The books get darker in book 3, but you guys seem to not be patient, so I guess it’s not your thing, Percy Jackson is very good, but it’s not only a adventure book, it has its own world and story, you need dialogues as much as fights, you really need to pay attention in the dialogues and get to know the characters traits. But you apparently won’t be able to do that. That being said great reaction, but this is not for you (in my opinion).

Davion and Cameron basically mentioned back in the past episode reaction something about them being familiar with the Greek story of Zeus and the gods being more muscular, all-mighty, powerful ornate deities with serious tone. They are more into what they already became accustomed to rather than try and experience something else. And on top of that, these guys (besides Nathan) didn’t even know Ares was a son of Zeus. Thats clearly shows the lack of knowledge they have for Greek mythology. Sure, they heard it, but obviously these guys haven’t done their thoroughly research especially when it comes to who or what became first. Percy Jackson is clearly not for them, and if they are, they’re impatient and want it explain immediately.

Percy Jackson is like Harry Potter. The first few books/seasons is pretty lighthearted because they are kids. As they get older the story will get much darker. So this first season was very Disney because they’re 12. It will get less Disney as the seasons go on.

Oh my god, have y’all not played God of War?? They literally mention dozens of times that Ares is the son of Zeus, and has always been the son of Zeus. Davion and Cameron, y’all gotta brush up on your Greek mythology. There’s literally documents and texts that confirm about Ares is the son of Zeus. And before the Titans, there was also the Primordials like Gaia (the earth), and Uranus (the sky). They existed long before the Titans and the Olympians. Zeus and his siblings (Poseidon: Hades, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia) came from Kronos, and Kronos and his Titan siblings all came from Gaia and Uranus. Please, do some serious research.

Okay so I am going to explain the blue food since I don't see anyone else doing so. At some point during their marriage, Gabe told Sally there was no such thing as blue food. Since then she has gone out of her to procure and make blue food. She buys blueberries and blue corn chips, brings home blue candy from her job at the candy store (thus the blue jellybeans episode one) bakes blue cake and cookies, makes blueberry smoothies, and so on. It has become a tradition for Sally and Percy, one which remains long after Gabe's death, and its origin no longer matters, because it is something special Percy shares with his mom.

Not gonna make this too long for yall lol. I think some people are being passive aggressive about it and that’s not cool. I think it’s okay to not be as into this season. It’s mostly for the information to get out there and show you how the war gets started. I promise, it picks wayyyy up from here. The second book (so season) is a bigger adventure than this one, and the darkness and real war starts in the 3rd. The action and danger picks up in every book. And yes, it was very Disney, the books are a bit more gory. They didn’t want freak out kids, even tho the books are for kids. But you guys are used to Hades being evil and menacing because of Hollywood. But Hades in Greek myths isn’t like that. He’s a cool guy. Also, the Gods can appear however they want to at any moment. Artemis prefers to look like a young girl, while her twin brother Apollo prefers to look like a guy in his early 20’s. Also, Zeus is the father of most of the olympians. Ares, Athena, Hermes, Apollo and Artemis, Hephaestus, Dionysus. Kronos is rising. And war is coming. Luke is going to help Kronos rise. That is what’s to come. That and the characters growing and aging. So as they get older, the things they go through get darker. It will get better. So don’t give up on it because of a slow start with season 1. Also, the movies, trash adaptations of the books. I wouldn’t say they’re bad movies but they’re terrible book adaptations. (well. The second one is pretty bad and skips to books after book 2 which is why there’s only two movies) If yall wanna watch them, I’m down to watch the reactions and tell you everything that’s wrong with them in the comments lol. If yall are readers tho or like audiobooks, I’d recommend the books for real. Percy beats most foes with his sarcasm and sass before he ever pulls his sword. Books are good. Greek myths are good. Anyway. Love yall. Love these reactions 🫶🏼 yall keep it up. Can’t wait for the next season of Cobra Kai and Umbrella Academy

Okay, very basic Greek mythology lesson coming in because watching you guys try to figure it out without touching Google once was painful: Chaos is the primordial being that existed before the universe. Gaia, the personification of Earth, emerged from Chaos. She created: Uranus, the personification of the sky. Together, Gaia and Uranus had many children, including the twelve Titans. One of those Titans, Kronos (lord of time), helped Gaia defeat Uranus. Kronos threw Uranus’s remains after severing him into the sea. From the sea foam created from that, Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, was born. Kronos and Rhea (another Titan sibling) married and had children. Of those children, six were gods that we are familiar with today: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus. Kronos ate all of his children, expect Zeus because Rhea hid him away. Later, Zeus came back and saved his siblings, deposing Kronos and throwing him into Tartarus (the deepest pit in the Underworld and the third primordial god after Chaos and Gaia. I don’t know who created him because that’s a little unclear but some sources say that he is a creation of Gaia and another entity). Now, Zeus and Hera get married and they have children: Ares (god of war) and Hephaestus (god of craftsmanship and the forge). Athena is Zeus’s daughter only because she was born from his thoughts. Like she literally sprung from his head, fully grown in battle armor. Apollo (god of the sun, poetry, music, medicine, and archery) and Artemis (goddess of the moon and the hunt) are twins. Their parents are Zeus and Leto (goddess of motherhood, childbirth, and modesty). Hermes (god of boundaries, roads, travelers, merchants, thieves, athletes, shepherds, commerce, speed, cunning, language, oratory, wit, and messages. So basically a lot lmao) is the son of Zeus and Maia (titanes of constellations). Dionysus (god of wine, insanity, and partying) was once a demigod. His father is Zeus and his mother was a mortal who Hera tricked into viewing Zeus’s true form and murdered because she was jealous of the fact that Zeus had once again cheated on her. Dionysius’s mother was pregnant with him when she died and Zeus sewed the embryo into his thigh until he was ready to be born. It’s unclear how Dionysus became a god, but the rules of mythology aren’t always consistent so 🤷🏽‍♀️. The twelve Olympian gods are: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Ares, Hephaestus, Apollo, Artemis, Aphrodite, Hermes, and Dionysus. Anyway, the big takeaway is that if an immortal has a child with another immortal, that child is going to be immortal too. And demigods can become gods through some type of process. Edit: I am by no means an expert and a lot of these gods have multiple origin stories. I’m just telling the ones that are canon in the Percy Jackson universe.

One slight correction, Athena is the (god equivalent) of Zeus's biological child, her mother, Metis, who I think was titan of memory and planning? Not sure, was Zeus's first wife and was inseminated by Zeus the normal way. He swallowed her while she was pregnant, so she was fully born inside his stomach. That's when she traveled up to his brain and pounded on his head to be let out, so Hephaestus split Zeus's skull with one of his hammers. So while not necessarily his first-born, Athena was certainly his first conceived.

Honestly all of the demigods pasts in the books were more tragic. Like Gabe’s abusive side made you connect to Percy more. Also i feel like the reveal of Kronos being the master mind was kinda weird in the show. You had better clues in the books to figuring out it was Kronos, or the master bolt had been stolen. They used Percy’s dreams to figure it out. Also i didn’t like the depiction of hades because in this version of Percy Jackson hades is pissed off for a reason at his brothers. He is not this chill for reason which they do reveal later in the series.

There are countless Greek gods of varying power, but there just 13 designated as Olympians (14 if you include Hades). You identified the "Big 3," brothers Zeus (the king), Poseidon and Hades. But they also had 3 sisters: Hera, Demeter and Hestia. The remaining Olympians are Ares (son of Zeus and Hera), Hephaestus (son of Zeus and Hera), Hermes (son of Zeus and a minor goddess), Athena (daughter of Zeus and a minor goddess), twins Artemis and Apollo (yup, Zeus and yet another minor goddess), Dionysus, son of Zeus and a mortal woman (so born a demigod, but made into a god by Zeus), and Aphrodite, who rose from sea foam supposedly created by the mutilation of Ouranous by his son Kronos. (There are only 12 thrones on Olympus - and 12 cabins at Camp Half-blood - because Hades doesn't have one, and Hestia gave up her throne to Dionysus (she now tends the hearth). As for Kronos's siblings - he had several brothers and sisters - yes, they had plenty of children and grandchildren. You may have heard some of them, like Prometheus, Atlas or Nike. Hope this helps.

1:53 hades in the actual myths was pretty much one of the chillest of the gods, he was actually very accurate in the show to what he would have been in the myths. The stereotype of him being a villain comes from the in accuracy of the Disney movie Hercules (who was actually a Roman name and not Greek)
