Monster dont die, they get destroyed and come to live again after a while. So she can come back, it just needs a while. 😊

You always do fun reactions, and Yes, you are correct. This is how you get away with doing a severed head on a Disney show targeted for kids a few years on either side of 12 year olds. I accepted any changes in the show once I saw Rick Riordan in an interview state that some of them were due to time constraints, but mostly because he said he "fixed mistakes that he made in the books".

Medusa's head can't hurt the gods, so whoever opens the box is going to be fine. Athena is the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy - she wouldn't have cursed her in a way Medusa could have used against her. That's why Percy thinks Olympus is the best place to send the head. Well, that and the impertinence 🤫 Great reaction!! I also have to say that I loooove your hair. It's so cool

In the books, Chiron told Percy that he shouldn’t travel by air (for the same reason that Grover explained), which included the shoes. Rather than reject Luke’s gift, Percy gave the shoes to Grover.

I really liked the way Medusa was portrayed in this episode (and I really like that actress as well - she was great in Black Sails). I particularly like that she got a chance to tell her story, because I don't think it's well known that she was really a victim of the capriciousness and casual cruelty of the Greek gods. Even the "good" ones were capable of jealousy, greed, and pettiness, and mortals were all too often their targets. That said, while I appreciate the poetry of Percy (Perseus) beheading Medusa, and I thought the scene afterwards was pretty great, I do kind of wish they'd found a different way. And my wife and I were totally singing Arthur's Theme through the credits. Long time since we've heard that one.

In the original Greek myths, Medusa was just a monster, nothing more. It was the Roman era when her more sympathetic/tragic story was created, to put the Greek gods in a worse light for those that still followed them, and to raise the Roman versions as the more superior gods.

The Medusa scenes were quite different in the book. The books were written back during a time where the Roman version of Medusa's story wasn't necessarily as well-known and popular as it is now (which is the version where Poseidon sexually assaults her and Athena punishes her)... And so they kind of married the two versions together for the show. She was very much a clear antagonist in the book... They made her a little bit more morally grey in the show. Which I like! The way that she was killed was also slightly different in the book... But the end result is the same... Percy cuts her head off, ya know? The details as to how that happens doesn't REALLY matter that much... Essentially, it was a longer fight in the book, from what i can remember. They made it happen quite quickly in the show kind of making Medusa seem significantly weaker than she actually was, IMO. But to be fair the Medusa section of the book was quite short. 🤷‍♀️ So in the truncated version in the show ...it makes sense that Medusa's section was also quite short. I honestly wish that we got more of her as I adore the actress who plays Medusa. She's wonderful.
