My Install Video - • Peragon Truck Bed Cove...
While not without its faults, the collapsible Truck Bed Cover from Paragon is one of my favorite bed covers that I have owned. I typically prefer to install my own covers anyway, so ordering direct and performing my own install was right up my alley. Now that I have been using the cover for several weeks, I can honestly say that while there could be some small improvements, this cover has my seal of approval. Great job Paragon!

So i literally just purchased one. After about a year of searching, reviewing and price checking bed covers I decided to go for this one. Your discount code is legit great. Thanks for this review
Great review. Thanks for posting it. Your review as well as others convinced me to order their tonneau cover with the “Platinum” package. The discount code from your video was the clincher to get me to pull the trigger. I returned another vendor’s one-piece tonneau cover as it came to my home damaged, replaced and arrived damaged again.
great in depth review with an honest take on it.
Thanks for making this video. I found it very helpful in making a decision on a cover for my Tacoma.
Really enjoyed your review and you definitely talked me into getting this cover. None of the other covers I looked at for my Dodge Ram 1500 come close to the functionality of this one. Just ordered it and got the 15% discount, so thank you very much for that! Can't wait to get it.

Ordered one yesterday...super excited!!! Thanks for the coupon sir!!
I just ordered the limited HD cover a day ago and watching all these fun videos of seeing this amazing cover in action…. Great video
I’ve owned a Peragon cover for 10 years and love it. I’ve never felt the need to remove it to gain the extra 5 or 6 inches. In the rare situation when I just couldn’t close the tailgate I simply bungeed down the load. Also there is no significant rattle of any kind as some inferred. I just contacted them for support because the pistons that close the front panels wore out (after 10 years). Three days, $45 and 5 minutes of labor later and it’s like new. Great cover and reasonably priced.

@@JimGuz56 yeah, and really are there any covers that are completely waterproof anyway? I've had mine for 2 months and I love it. I did have the front seal improperly positioned initially and it did leak a little, but I realized my mistake and corrected that. The only place mine leaks now, is just a tiny bit in the rear corners and that's with a very hard rain and I haven't installed tailgate seal yet.

@@JimGuz56 Thanks for the info, I figured someone who had the cover for ten years would have better info, than someone who has had it for a week or two. I know that none of them are 100% weather proof, but not trying to spend 2 grand on something that leaks like a sieve and ruin my tools an equipment.
Perfect cover. I've been on the fence for a while. I've looked at all kinds of covers for my F-150 and I had it narrowed down to a few manufacturers. Once I saw this one, it was a done deal. It is unique, I've never seen another one quite like this. First of all I think it's the best looking cover out of all of them, with the possible exception of a one-piece fiberglass cover. Those aren't as convenient as a foldable one though. Anyway, the looks, I like the security of these covers compared to other foldable ones, the fact that it doesn't take up much room in the bed or block your rear window and the ease of removal. I was waiting till I got my bed line next, now that's done and I just ordered mine today. Thanks for the great video and thanks for the discount code 👍
agree 100% I found this company AFTER I bought my cover for my '19 Ram and was so upset because this gives you so many more options. This will be my next purchase next time I need a cover. Good review!

Techgooch...ha ha ha, sorry I enjoyed the name! Nice video and content! I have been researching retractable Tacoma bed covers for a little while now. I found Peragon's covers earlier today and have been pleasantly surprised by there product, warranty, and customer service. I spoke with them today and was extremely happy with how they answered my questions and the assistance they provided. I am definitely going to purchase their cover once my 22 Tacoma TRD Pro arrives in 4 wks. Also, I believe there cover will still allow a Sports bar/roll bar setup on the rear depending on the design! Be well -Shane

Thanks you the review. I would like to see water tight. Only cover I own was one with first Chevy avalanche release. I noticed 1 drip area near cab. Truck was replaced with Tundra. So from 2002 - 2020 no company has made collapsible removable cover water tight yet. I got packout to least keep tools dry except for large equipment. Hopefully this company might make a new version.
This was super helpful. I was juggling so many options till I came across your review. Thanks!

I have a Softopper truck that I use once every month or 2 for my dogs on long road trips. Would my softtopper be able to clamp over the rail. Is the rail easy to remove?
Good video, appreciate the coupon, ordered now. Thanks
I have a Peragon on my Silverado since 2020. Its just okay, the biggest issue I have is packing my truck bed full to go on a family trip. With it all the way open in the forward position folded up you can't pack stuff up against the cover when its folded because when you go to pull the cover closed it will jam up against the stuff you have packed in the bed. So if you want to pack your bed fully you have to pack your bed with the cover closed so then you have to use something like a stick or broom handle to push your stuff all the way forward toward the cab. And if the cover is closed it makes it hard to stack items in your bed like luggage, bags lawn chairs fishing gear etc because you can't reach that far forward to stack items. Then when you get to where your going to unpack your truck, you can't open your cover because it won't fold forward because of all the stuff you have in your bed and the stuff that's packed all the way forward won't allow the cover to fold open because the cover folds inward in a downward position and all your stuff in the bed won't allow it to fold open. Hope all that makes sense, its just something I didn't think of when I bought the cover. But it's a reason why I am considering replacing mine with something else that folds upward and not inward like the Peragon. We always use my truck for family trips and packing and unpacking the bed is an issue with that cover. After 4 years some of my seals are coming loose I was told by customer support I could glue them or buy new ones. Good way to stand behind your product.
Thanks man good review. Just ordered the platinum one and used your coupon code and got $175 off

Hey great video! I am considering buying one. I am wondering if the cover rattles when driving? Would like to know when fully closed and all the way open. Thanks.
I owned one of these. It is a good cover, but I had two complaints. 1. I always had a problem with water leakage. I am not talking about flooding, but bad enough if you had anything packaged in cardboard it would be compromised. 2. Wind vibration. You could look back when driving and see the whole cover vibrating. At high speeds I would sometimes get a noise from it.

Man I must really be stupid. I've been trying to install this since 11am this Easter Sunday. I've gotten all done but cant get it to slide open. It gets in the middle and the rails start to rise up as the roller seizes. The 24/7 support marked in the instructions arent open until Monday morning. I hope tomorrow I'll have more luck
Does this cover fit for a 2020 Silverado?....I have a Retrax Tonneau Roll n lock and does not fit well over my bed....too much water enters my bed when it rains....I am currently looking for a new cover
I really want this cover for my chevy Colorado but my question is are there really any covers out there for beds that are 100% waterproof? I have a soft cover and it sucks with keeping water out and ive heard that the hard covers are better but even with seals some water will get in. Most likely gonna go with this cover but for over 1000 its kinda pricy for not keeping water out. Thanks for the honest and long videos u posted u addressed everything.
Your right Mark. Seems like it would be rattling and loud while driving
@BigTyronie

It kind of is...it seems to rattle/vibrate on the highway at speed
and...does it lock in the forward position when open? on my old rolltop cover it had a strap that wrapped around to make sure it can't unroll when cruising down the highway.
I like it, only thing it needs is the t-slots on the rails for a rack system like the Retrax and Pace Edwards have.
I've been researching different types of covers but how well does it deal with ice & snow if needing to open. Does it crush or pinch the winter precipitation and then fall into the bed while it folds ? I work in construction so accessibility to entire bed is nesicary so if my winter concerns of not opening without these issues does anyone have feedback?
thanks for the video; i agree, time for a retractable hard cover instead of a roll up!
It's 2022, how has the cover held up? Any issues? Still working like new?
Thanks for the videos! I saved $172 with your code. It basically pays for the premium add-ones. You sold me the cover.
Since it's been a while now had it held up with staying dry and not letting in water?
Can we get an update on how the cover does through winter?
Thanks for the video and coupon code!
Been on the fence. But your review cinched it. Ordering now.
Do those easily dent? What if I didn’t want to take it out and push my ATV up to it and use tie down straps, will that damage the cover or is that why they allow removal?
@DCGibson
4 жыл бұрын
calimann21, the panels do dent relatively easy! I was parked in a friend’s driveway in Huntsville, AL, when a nut the size of a golf ball fell out of his tree and hit my Peragon cover. The nut left a dent that looks like someone actually threw a golf ball as hard as they could on to the cover. I was stunned!
I bought this 3 weeks back and regret not spending the extra money on a higher quality cover(like the retrax). The aluminum is extremely thin, the hardware is chinsey to say the least(hit something with a board and it will bend guaranteed), the retracting function is extremely cumbersome(day one was ok but stiff...3 weeks later and if anything its gotten worse than better through break in)...to start the process of opening is rough on your ball joint in the shoulder...so if you work in the trades be careful as this made my shoulder injury from hammering my entire life flare up..finally, not nearly as waterproof as the retrax or a soft top cheap cover. Some things are worth it to spend more money on and if you want a retractable cover...spend the money on quality as i dont see this lasting past its warranty period whatsoever....and with that other brands like retrax with the sealed ball bearings that actually let you open up with 1 hand have a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Can you tell what i wish i would have bought? Im already planning on pulling this off and doing the retrax by years end...no way will my shoulder keep allowing me to open this thing up. The ONE positive i can say is that it does look nice....but once you press a finger on the peragon aluminum slats youll feel the thinness and chinsey quality to it.

how much noise is there when you open and close the cover. in the video it sound like it is fairly noisy. possible switch the wheels to neoprene to make it quieter?
How does it handle partial coverage? If you need to leave it partially or all the way open will it stay in place or does it roll back and forth
What if there are some stuff down the "push spot", then how can we open it?

I really like the idea behind this cover, but your removing and installing of the cover itself looked pretty painful. I live in MN so could be doing this when its very cold out (when I put my ATV in the back for ice fishing). Not sure I want to be doing what you had to do when it's 0 degrees. This video is 2 years old. Have you found it easy to remove and reinstall now that you've had it awhile??

It would seem like right after a rain that quite a bit of standing water would come gushing in from the panels you push down on to open. It also sounds like it will clank and rattle around quite a bit in the open position. Am I correct on both?

What about the folded up cover rattling around when you have it in a folded position? Can you hear it or does it rattle around over bumps when driving??
Theres alot of down sides to that cover but it is pretty cool though. And also if theres snow on it your bed will fill up with snow and snow and ice would make the cover not to seal correctly.

that pull strap is going to get caught up with the cargo in the bed. Will be a pain to pull it without it getting stuck
good description just one thing to say. truck rails are definitely compatible and you dont need to take it off.
Looks like a decent cover, until you need to remove it. Watched up until the 11:30 to 12:00 minute mark - watching the removal and re-attach process was a bit painful. Overall - an honest and great review!
Also the first 2 feet of the bed up by the cab could not be used if it was too tall. If what you are hauling slides forward it can keep to frome retracting the cover at all and you must climb into the bed to pull it out. A real pain in the a$$.
I was totally sold on the cover UNTIL I watched the review. The struggle involved in taking the cover off was more than the portrayed. Also, looks like the panels are cheap and will warp under the NM heat and sun. I’ve had vinyl covers, solid 1 piece tilt up covers and flip covers. I was hoping for a retractable but think I’ll go back to the flip cover. The panels are thicker and don’t seem so flimsy. I have a heavy duty truck and need a heavy duty cover. I think this cover would be great though for someone who doesn’t really need it for more than to hide contents in the bed.
Coupon code no longer work?
I hit like & subscribed both, but as you did with nitrogen filled strut, I would prefer some better shots of the hardware, like pins or rollers, ball bearings or hard plastic phenolic guides. Is it powder coated or electro-statically charge k2 paint. I know you did not make this and shooting videos from a tripod is hard. I am a retired ASE Master Tech and more interested in the construction and how it “Aluminum” would hold up. A micrometer measurement of the panels thickness and the manufactures choice of aluminum would tell me a lot. I am not able nor interested in the truck as mine in a 67 C10 long bed. I can put 16 sheets of 1/2” plywood and shut the tailgate. The North Eastern part of Colorado and the North Western part of Nebraska has been called the hail capitol of the world, ever though a 7+ inch stone was documented in SD. How would this like after a 3/4” hail storm? My 1967 is stamped from 18 gauge steel and would fair much better than a Camry. Just asking. Thanks again for your efforts, this is work! I will be looking at other postings on bed caps on your channel. I will hit “Like” if some tries to be clear, good camera shots and make a point. This not for rubber teeth and fake moonshine, it is informative. I learned to fix lawnmowers, import motorcycles and vehicles when a rural areas has wood phones, no KZread how to’s. I research a product before I purchase and you have helped me somewhat. That’s all I ask for! Thanks, Omaha!

The only drawback about this cover that I see is when you close or open it the fold takes up more than 6 inches because when you open it or close the angle of the fold is such you cannot put anything in the bed from lets say about 1 or 2 feet from the front of bed because the fold will hit your cargo. What do you not like about it? Shopping for one right now and I’ve never had any type of cover at all
Peragon Owner here. Here’s the things I don’t like about Peragon style covers: 1-You do need that space below the end of the cover to be empty, otherwise something might obstruct the folding of the panels and it won’t open, even if it’s empty, something might slide underneath while driving and you’ll have to crawl inside to move away whatever is obstructing the process of the panels folding downwards for it to open 👎🏼👎🏼 2-The weather feature is junk. With time passing and sun burning the foam seals, eventually they will fail. This cover keeps water from entering the bed just by pressure, when panels fold together, there’s a piece of foam that “seals” the two panels, that foam is glued to one end of a panel and the another end of another panel just buts into it. Even if the cover is new, driving while a hard rain with the truck all over the road and it’s minimal bouncing, water will get in. Minimal water in the beginning and it will worsen over time. 3- When the cover is new, it rolls pretty smooth but that smoothness will be gone pretty soon, sometimes it will derail and you’ll need to fix that every time.
Really good static review but with all those moving parts how does it handle highway wind and vibration? Also how can they say " secure" when even its closed ,someone could just open the tailgate .Not everyone has a locking one.
