At the end of the 19th century, the activity of the troubadours of Santiago de Cuba forged the so-called Cuban popular neo-romanticism, giving shape to the so-called Vieja Trova. With the triumph of the Revolution, sentimental lyrics gave way to the political commitment of the Nueva Trova. Pepe Rivero illustrates in this concert the constant search for a connection with folkloric roots.
