First time I've seen this documentary. So sad Mike T is gone. God Bless y'all. I think I have listened to PUTS almost every day since I found them 12 years ago. RIP Double K. To the real P fans this goes out to you

one of the best live shows I've ever seen. RIP double K. going back through this old stuff in the wake of his passing it feels like we're saying goodbye not just to double but to PUTS altogether. These guys were like the epitome of having fun making music with your friends. As a rapper/producer/head that's getting up into my mid-30s, it makes me reflect on the times spent making music with my friends and I feel sad for some reason. Maybe it's cause I miss not having some of those people in my life anymore.... maybe cause just thinking about what Thes is going through makes me miss my old partner in rhyme that I grew apart from... or maybe cause this past year has been so fucked up and we've been losing musical heroes left and right. Maybe it's easier to process the passing of someone I didn't even know than the friend I lost this year.... maybe cause I'm getting older. God damn I miss live music.

These two were so nice on the mic and with sampling producing everything themselves. Reminiscing right now. Rip Double K.

I first discovered these guys at the Glastonbury Festival, here in England, back in June/July, 2000. Unfortunately, they were performing to only about 15 people, as it was about 12 in the afternoon, on Sunday, when many of the festival-goers were still asleep in their tents! They still put 100% into their performance though. I went looking for their music as soon as I got home.

I thought it was because of constantly getting sued of samples that weren't cleared and people online mentioning the samples used for the songs they made. The owners of the artist's musical catalogs that they are sampling from were sueing them not the artists themselves. It got costly being that they were asking for hundreds of thousands of dollars for sample clearances.

This is priceless.

Return In Power Micheal "Double K" Turner. So thankful for all the great music and positive vibes as a backdrop to so many good times growing up in SO-CAL. Seeing P.U.T.S. do their thing live 20 years ago @ El Taco Nazo in Pomona, CA with Lootpack and 4th Ave. Jones was a blessing.

so sad, to this day, never got to see them perform live and now they're retired. hurts my soul. it just never worked out where I could see them. sucks.

Does anyone know where i can find some type of list of samples that they used for their early albums like the next step, question in the form, OST? I used to know a ton, but am having a tough time finding them and remembering the original samples. Puts have introduced us to such good music, that we woulda never came across otherwise.
