*MITCH GRASSI, IS THE RAREST OF MALE VOICES, A COUNTER TENOR, & EXQUISITE TO OUR EARS* I have often been lost for words, when trying to describe Pentatonix's unique vocals & sound, & I still cannot express, or even come to terms, with what my ears are hearing, most times, but one thing I do know, is that, when I hear their voices, it always takes me to a place, that touches my heart, & can make me feel things, I didn't even know existed!!! To me, that is their gift, & what makes them, not only an amazing group, but incredible artists 💝 *THEY TRULY ARE A RARE GIFT* 💝

At 4 minutes and 36 seconds, pay VERY close attention, and be sure to have the best headphones you can find. Scott is holding a note and Mitch comes in on the same note but hugely higher. Because of the chord progression, Scott is ever so slightly, as in 1/64 of a tone, sharp. Mitch lands smack dab spot on precisely the same tone. He doesn't hunt, he doesn't slide, he lands on that note with the accuracy of a lazer. Talent beyond compare, and I have been singing since before Mitch or Scott were twinkles in their Fathers' eyes. I sang barbershop baritone as well as singing blues, and the ability to hit the right note out of tune the right way is a rare and wonderful gift. Pentatonix has done it again. They took a song I was never fond of and made it their own while staying true to the music. Incredible. Is there any piece of music these 5 musicians cannot make magnificent? I certainly have never heard one. It is a very rare thing for the resultant notes to be heard on a recording, no matter the quality, but the made the angels sing.

You listen for the crack in his voice, and you will not hear it because he is Mitch Grassi.

I have heard ONE crack in Mitch's voice. That was in Hallelujah, and it was intentional.

This is one of the most moving songs that PTX has ever recorded. Amanda obviously agrees, showing the effects of the harmonies and vocals on her heart. If you want to start with Christmas songs start with O Come all Ye Faithful. It’s so fun, so PTX a really creative take on Christmas carols

For what it's worth, I have seen them do this live and Mitch still made it look this easy. They're all so absurdly talented, I can't claim any of them are better than others, but for me personally, Mitch is really special.

O come all ye faithful is a Christmas song of theirs as you have never heard it before. Give it a try.

The forest was a set haha. This cover was in tribute to the duo of Celine Dion and Italian opera singer Andrea Brocelli(that is why Scott's part was in Italian). If you're looking for PTX original songs I would recommend either "Sing" or "Run to you". They are actually very different songs so maybe both.

So frickin beautiful!!! They just envelope you in warmth. "Oh Come of Ye Faithful" is one you need to do, you will never hear the song the same. 2 years ago with this, well 1.5, "Seasons of Love " Live from the 4th of July , you get to hear just where Kirstie can go on the top end, lets just say it in the stratosphere. New "Prayers for This World" and yes it is emotionally loaded. Had to add ALWAYS love your reactions....and you little dog too!!!

Evergreen, the album this song in on, has been nominated for a Grammy.

That effect that you feel when Mitch does something that a human voice should not be able to do is called a Mitch Slap. :)

This is from last year's Christmas album Evergreen, so fairly new. Ghostbusters is older, but they reuploaded it recently. But there is a new Christmas album this year too, plus a load of older ones. The new album only has one video so far, but there are audio only 'videos' of all the tracks on KZread in Pentatonix's Playlists.

Loved the reaction when Scott started singing his part. I see it's mentioned already this is a cover of Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, the song was released in 1998 and featured in the movie "Quest For Camelot." I had to laugh at your little doggie being on the table. My husky gets on my end table to look out the window. I keep trying to tell my dog he is not a cat but he doesn’t believe it anymore then he believes he is not a lap dog 😂 best wishes from Tennessee 😊🇺🇸

O Come All Ye Faithful is a must watch from PTX!! It’s an example of them taking an old Christmas song we’ve all heard so many times and flipping it on it’s head. You won’t be disappointed! 😊

PTX has done original music albums, which consists of holiday as well as none holiday music. Some of my favorites of their originals are: Sing, Coffee in Bed, Petals, Love Again, Lucky Ones and Thanks You... Just to name a few. 🙂

David Foster wrote this in the 90's just for Celine & tenor Andrea Bocelli. Its beautiful....Now please do " Amazing Grace "anther one that will blow your mind. Jody your right for sure. PTX are so so good.

booboolu's another good upgrade is the old boarding 12 days of Xmas, but once they got their vocal cords into it, like booboolu's and their upgrade of Over the River and Though to Woods with that great violin's Ms Sterling.

I highly recommend you watch the video on the wish bus 107.5 of marcelito pomoy, doing his cover of the prayer. His cover will literally leave you stunned, when you realize there is only one person singing. Also consider this he is singing in a French Canadian accent, for Celine Dion's part, and in Italian for Andre bocelli's part and he speaks neither language, manages to nail the tempo and the accent perfectly

For original songs, recommend Sing!, Love Again (another Mitch slap), Water (co-written by Kirstie), Coffee in Bed

You’ll be waiting til the end of your days for Mitch to crack. Lol This came out in 2021. It isn’t an old one. They do have another holiday album out from this year as well. It’s fantastic. They also have some original holiday music. It isn’t all repeats. They do arrange some older Christmas songs in a way that makes them sound fresh. Oh Come All Ye Faithful Hark the Herald (the new album) Over the River *just to name a few

If you want a good christmas song you ought to check out "Christmas Truce" by Sabaton. Sabaton is a Swedish metalband who sings about events in wars and this song is about the spontaneous truce that happend on the several places on the front the 24th of December 1914 during WWI when soldiers stopped shooting and came out of the trenches and met, exchanged presents, played some games and for one day had some peace. It's a wonderful song about a beautiful and heartbreaking event that shows that even in the darkest of hours there are can still be a spark of humanity left. In addition Sabaton has their own history channel, Sabaton History, where they go through the historical facts behind their songs with a legitimate historian so you can find out the details about what happend and how, name one other band who does that. I highly recommend that you give that song a chance, I believe you're going to like it.

Written for Disney's Quest for Camelot, and performed by Celine Dion in a duet with Andrea Bocelli. The Celtic Woman version of this is very "wow" but what would you expect of a song written for a soprano delivered by 5 sopranos accompanied by a full orchestra. The Pentatonix version is much more intimate and emotional, striking closer to the heart. I think it is one of their better "upgrades".

He was 17 and lived a full and happy life. So, Oscar has been hit the hardest. We do plan on finding him a little brother. To me, Mitch's highest notes sound a little "brassy" compared to Kirstie's. Her notes are purer in the highest register, at least to my ear. I think it's the "mix" that Mitch uses to get those high notes with power. But they basically have the same upper range, which is mind-blowing.
