As someone who can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, I find Kevin beyond impressive. They are all so very talented and truly have elevated a capella to the highest art form. They all know who and when to shine in any given piece of music. I would love to hear you react to RunTo You (an original, with Avi) and Come Along. Plus the Popspring performance gives you 3 originals plus the Evolution of Michael Jackson medley.

Beat-boxing and cello playing simultaneously is exceptional. I don't know how he does it!

The black-and-white videography, with the pops of gold color from jewelry and fixtures, is an homage to the movie posters, which were all black-and-white with the only color being the gold lettering in "A Star Is Born".

Over the years, they have continuously blown my mind. There are no weak links in PTX. Each one of them a powerhouse. Then they come together, and it’s pure magic.

The dude who does the beatboxing plays the cello. 😉 That's Kevin! The guy that does the bass is named Matt, he is the one on the far left in the video. Great reaction! I prefer PTX to any of the other acapella groups. Just my preference. Thank you for this content!

For pure A Cappella five part harmonies, for me there is no better song by any group anywhere than PTX singing My Heart With You.

OMG, you have barely scratched the surface of PTX performances. Here's three more you should do soon. 1. Their earliest original "sing". 2. Imagine, perhaps their most impressive song. 3. Amazing Grace - My Chains are Broken. Then you will have only about 175 more performances to do, with not a single bummer in the entire group.

They are all great, but Kirstin kills in this song. Recommend their Rather Be, Come Along, and My Favorite Things.

They have over 11 years of "big ones" for real.. Yes Kevin (beatboxer) is an accomplished cello player (he pinned the term cello-boxing!) along with so many other amazing things about him.. whenever they include any instrument, it is always obvious and in plain view.

Yes, if you are an Imagine Dragons fan or Lindsey Stirling fan, you must see her collaboration with PTX of Radioactive. They absolutely kill it! It won Lindsey a KZread music award in 2014. Occasionally, Kevin plays his cello (named Beyonce) in PTX videos, but not often. They have done at least three videos with Lindsey, as well as a Wizard of Oz spoof, named Wizard of Ahhhs, with Todrick Hall. If you haven't seen that one, you absolutely must watch it.

Great reaction. Many Pentaholics say that PTX doesn’t do covers, they do upgrades. I like this version better than the original cause I feel more passion in their voices. In case you’re not aware, Scott found Kevin on You Tube featuring cello beatboxing and the performance had more than 900,000 views. Kev was premed at Yale before joining PTX. They are all so freakishly talented, God given. 💕

Looks like you haven't done Imagine or Amazing Grace yet....those are other big ones. Also, consider checking out some of their originals! For really upbeat orginals try Sing and Coffee in Bed. For a really hauntingly beautiful one try Run to You. For a great LIVE experience try their 2016 Popspring concert, which has 4 songs: the Evolution of Michael Jackson plus three originals (Cracked, Can't Sleep Love, and Water). It was recorded by MTV, so the quality is excellent!

Every once in a while Kevin will play his Cello in a song and it just makes it better. He also beatboxes at the same time while playing the Cello which is mind-blowing, the term Cello-boxing was created after Kevin, who is a master Cellist. He plays in their cover of "Radioactive" which is killer.

Kevin invented Cello boxing, music professors are now studying this in videos of them. That’s actually how the trio found Kevin, from a KZread video that hit almost a million views in (2011 which is really significant) and they reached out to him and asked them to join the group and tryout for The Sing Off, an a cappella TV competition. He was pre med at Yale. They found Avi through a mutual friend. Crazy how far they’ve come from that.

He calls it cello boxing, and it’s now being taught in music schools.

It's not too terribly often, but sometimes they bring Kevin in on his Cello. They do so just to add a "supportive element" . . . They could drop the Cello and still hold the entire song on their own 5 voices/beatboxing. You will see "Beyonce" (the Cello's name) show up here and there, but never in a FULL role. . . simply an extra added element added for fun.
