Avi (bass) really struggled with the contacts so his eyes are bloodshot in sections of the video. Kevin (beatboxer) couldn’t tolerate them at all, which is why he has the futuristic glasses on. They had very little budget for this so the audio was recorded in a closet and the video elements were recorded in the kitchen of Avi and Kevin’s flat. Then put together by their editor into this masterpiece

Many people still don"t know Daft Punk members are French :)

The bass is Avi Kaplan, he left in 2017 and his solo work is amazing. This is their first hit, with the original formation. His substitute is Matt Salee, he is doing an outstanding job. They are very different visually, so if the group has a white deep voice singer with a dark beard is Avi, Matt is a tall handsome black man. That's the only substitution in this group. The baritone is Scott, he has white hair is this video, he is blonde, the girl is Kirstin (mezzo), she has had every hair color, the guy with the very high voice (counter-tenor) looks like different people from how much he changes, but it's always Mitch. Beatboxing is done by Kevin, who can also play many instruments, including cello, while beatboxing. He also sings, beautiful voice, he is a tenor. Everyone has amazing solo work as well.

They did an insane work on this one.

Daft punk is Electronic music and the Pentatonix absolutely nailed the electronic sound with just their voices. Amazing

Great reaction! Some people don't understand what a miracle it is to do a capella EDM with an authentic sound. They also have an original EDM song, Love Again, which is perhaps more amazing, definitely a little stranger and still so warm and velvety.

I can't believe no one had told you this but this video was made with only $400. They recorded it in Avi and kevins closet and filmed it in the kitchen

Where you first paused your were looking at the genius 'Rhythm Section' of Avi (no shirt. & is the Super Bass) and Kevin (glasses. Beatboxer) Their transitions are magic. You are nodding your head and moving your body to their awesome beats. They were down to their last $400 and shot this entirely in the apartment that Avi & Kevin shared. Filmed it in a black lined cupboard using a ring light individually then added steam from their kitchen lol...It was all put together by the brilliant Ben Brahm (& I forgot the name of the other director) But hey this got them their first Emmy...Loved your reaction really enjoyed your comments. But please watch it again and play attention the the Rhythm section...Avi & Kevin Trio are brilliant but Kevin & Avi are often left out.

This was the video that made them international superstars. Not only did this lead to their first Grammy, but it also got them promoted from one of Sony's smallest labels (Madison Gate) all the way up to RCA! They've never looked back since. This is the group's original lineup, so Avi is on bass. Avi left in 2017 and was replaced by Matt in early 2018. That's been the only personnel change in the group's history. Avi was the one who had the most bloodshot eyes. Kevin was wearing the goggles because he couldn't handle the contacts at all. There were a total of seven Daft Punk songs in this video.

Avi is the bass singer in this song. Avi left Pentatonix a few years ago, and since then Matt Sallee has joined Pentatonix as the bass singer.

I didn't know Pentatonix at all and it's a pretty good surprise. So, thank you for that medley. But now you have to react to the real Daft Punk. The main problem is that they made so many great songs that it's very difficult to choose one. But I there was only one song that I could recommend to you, that would be "Instant crush". That is really beautiful and I really love it. But any other song that you would choose would be ok because they're so talented. You are obviously confused by the Matt / Avi situation. Avi was the original bass and is operatically trained. (He also blows bass speakers with his low notes sometimes.) But the concert pace plus some family issues caused him to have to leave. He found Matt and brought him in, entirely amicably. If the video release was from 2017 or earlier, it is Avi. After 2017, it is Matt.

Avi is on Bass, Kevin is the Beat Boxer.

Aaah I was hoping to hear Around the World at every turn, I mean it's a good medley of Daft Punk's US hits but damn they did so much before and in my opinion their best work is their earliest. You should react to them Dereck, they're legends.

Hi Dereck. You're reactions are so fun to watch but I agree with other comments, please learn the band members names. I know you have a lot of names to remember but it makes a difference. The members in this video are Scot Hoying( the blond baritone), Mitch Grassi (the counter tenor), Kirstie Maldonado(mezzo soprano) and Kevin Olusola(beatboxer). Avi (pronounced Ah-vee) Kaplan is the bass and he was the original bass of Pentatonix. He is my favorite. You referred to Avi I think as Matt who is not even in this video. Matt Sallee is the current day bass for Pentatonix. No worries you'll get there but it would mean a lot for you to get to know them by name. thanks:)

As a matter of quality, hearing the original first puts your mind in the right place before hearing the cover. The older a classic song, the greater the chance of not understanding a cover. Some young reactors have watched PTX cover Bohemian Rhapsody and most of the time I'm reacting to their lack of understanding of the original - "why did they do that?", "what is that about?", when it was in the design of the original. It's almost comic watching someone react to Home Free's remake/collab of American Pie when they never heard or understood the original - and then it slowly dawns on them that the original artist is singing with them.

I listened to a reactor doing PTX's Bohemian Rhapsody who had never heard of Queen or Freddie Mercury. He had no idea what he was watching....

The most impressive aspect is that they created the glitch and digital voice effects without electronics.. watching them do this live is mind blowing. Btw your reaction might've been received better if you got to the actual reaction sooner.. 3+ minutes of intro is excessive for reacting to a 3 minute video.
