I’m a huge Avi fan. I recommend going to a concert when he tours again. He toured last year, and I saw him in Phoenix. It was great! He’s an embodiment of warmth and tranquility. His voice reaches your soul.

This was an homage to Kevin's parents. His dad is Nigerian and mom is from Grenada! Love it! ❤

I haven’t mentioned him in a while because I’ve said so much about how much I love his voice already, but I don’t want new viewers or others to think that I don’t appreciate him because I LOVE him, but it’s so hard to describe how special he is. Like all of them are in their own way! 💛

The whole idea of watching reactions is to have that good feeling of sharing something with others. Your reaction to this video really provided just that. The African vibe to this song really made it special. You could tell that the group knew they had made something special. The rhythm section of Avi and Kevin really carried this song. Thank you for creating to it.

After all these years this us STILL my favorite ptx song. And they were honest with the world clear back in that never think you know what they're going to do with a song. Not only are they insane with talent they don't want to be pinned down and labeled traditional so don't go in to any of their songs with any preconceived notions on what it'll sound like. Its ptx. You it'll be awesome now sit back and enjoy.

It's a fun one. Glad you enjoyed it. Silent Night is another favorite of mine performed in a church again. When you have a chance Avi Kaplan has done a gorgeous performance of his song "When I'm A Fool" live at Sunset Sound Studios just released on an E.P. Amazing range.

When people ask for recommendations of the next Pentatonix song they should listen to, some of us like to say, "Think of a song you hate because you've heard it too many times, or heard it sung too poorly. Type that song's name into your KZread search box and add the word 'Pentatonix.' If they've covered it, that will find their cover of the song. Listen to it. It will likely become your new favorite." And when we say that, this is one of the songs we're thinking of. PTX takes "O Come All Ye Faithful" to a whole new level. I love the African vibe they put on this classic, and I love it that they turn it from something solemn into something that makes me want to dance. The sacred *should* be joyful.

Great reaction! This is such a different take on an old traditional Christmas song, it's really a whole new song entirely! You can't help but move to this, the beat is so catchy!

This song is so epic, they turned a regular Christmas song into such a fun song. They’re all so joyous during this. Have you reacted to Joyful Joyful? I’ll have to check your playlist. If you have not I would highly recommend their live version from the evergreen tour specifically. It is one of my favorites and I’m still over the moon that I got to hear them sing it live in concert a few weeks ago!

PTX just released another song with an African beat on the latest album. I think it is stunning and joyous as well. No video (yet), only audio, but you should still react to it. “Love Came on Christmas”. Joy to the World mixed with an African hymn, Kumama Papa, mixed with original lyrics. A masterpiece!

Lion King vibes!

It's so funny, because when I very first saw that they had recorded this, I avoided it for over a year. I used to have to sing it in church choir and I guess it left some kind of aversion (not least because i'm now an atheist, ig). In many Western churches, at least in my experiences, it's usually sung as quite a somber sounding/feeling song, boring even (certainly not the kind of song you dance to); though there was a little section towards the end with what they called a descant, where a small section of the choir (sopranos or trebles, iirc) sings a different & higher melody behind/above the regular melody. So I had grown to dislike it (the same as I did with 12 days of xmas). Finally, I caved in and watched it, and I was absolutely blown away with it. The feel & rhythm that Kevin brought to it just elevated it to the kind of upbeat song it should have been all along, something joyful and that you wanted to dance & "praise god" to I never understood why church was always so somber). I think that's why Kevin is so into it with the dancing while beatboxing, it's his vibe, itwas something he helped put together in the song in homage to his African & Carribean roots & to his parents. I mean, how can you not dance to it, it's such a vibe.

Good reaction. PTX is awesome! But, serious question. Have you really not heard of O Come All Ye Faithful? Only reason I ask is you asked if you pronounced it correctly. But then you mention during the reaction that you’ve heard the song before. Just confused. Not trying to troll.
