John Lennon would have loved this beautiful rendition of his wonderful work.

This is one of their pieces that ALWAYS gets a reaction from people. It's always uplifting, always emotional, and most of all it's seriously impressive.

Kirstie said in their documentary that she was born in high heels - she has to wear them on stage because otherwise she looks like a munchkin. She often winds up next to Scott (6’4”) which emphasizes her small stature. I was most impressed with her ability to climb up on the couch during the Bohemian Rhapsody shoot in heels - difficulty level expert. Small in height but with a beautiful, powerful voice with a tremendous range, from a smooth, lovely contralto in Where are you Christmas to the soaring soprano notes in Hallelujah. And she is just one of five amazing talents (scratch that, six, I refuse to give up on Avi) that share the stage as PTX.

This piece really pushed buttons on everyone when it came out. One of their best. Best beloved.

Just to be on a certain here, in the case you didn't came to conclusion: A card each individual Pentatonix member holds represent a part of them; Mitch&Scott both being members of the LGBTQ+ community while Scott declare himself as a man, Avi being an American Jewish man, Kevin being a black American Christian and Kirstie being Christian Latina woman. All in all, one of my personal Pentatonix favorites and glad you'd like the song and video aswell, it sends a beautiful message with perfect voices. Yes. The card that they pass on is the common identity that the person who passes the card and the person who accepts the card share. Mitch hands Scott the LGBTQ+ card. Scott hands Avi the Man card. Avi hands Kevin the American card and Kevin hands Kirstie the Christian card.

I have always had this fantasy for a day, just one day to have all the radio, tv and all social platform play this song all day on repeat. Just to provoke people to just take in the words and contemplate.

I’ve watched this video many times, reactions and the official video. I still get goosebumps when towards the end, all of their voices come together to sing “Live as one”….WOW!! I also truly believe that the video is the most important part of the song. Their message is the best and I believe John Lennon would agree that this video is much better than his video. I believe he would be very proud.

Loved it! Another classic is Jolene with Dolly Parton . They won their second Grammy for that song.

Thank you so very much for this! From all their labelled differences as they appear on paper, they come together in one beautiful voice. This one moves me in the same way as the symphony composed by Frank Ticheli to honor those students killed in the 1999 Columbine High School Massacre. It's horrifying that these shootings continue to happen. The mass shooting in the Orlando nightclub, Pulse (which inspired this), shows that after so much time, we as a human race, still have terrible problems seeing not how we are different, but how beautifully we are similar. We love, we laugh, we cry, we have hopes, we have dreams. I think Lennon in his way, Pentatonix in their way and Frank Ticheli in his way get the message out...we all just have to be willing to receive it.

Great reaction, as always! I love all of their voices in this one, especially Kevin. He came to the group as a cellist and beat-boxer, but took voice lessons and slowly became a perfect 5th voice in their most harmonic songs. Please check out PTX Radioactive or Love Again (an original).

Just fell down the YT rabbit hole and watched a bunch of your reaction videos to PTX. Their voices just go straight to the heart. Love that you started will Hallelujah. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Love seeing people react to this group. Another good one to check out is a cover of Africa by a gigantic a cappella group from Slovenia called Perpetuum Jazzile. The intro is the greatest part of the song - the rest is also great but the beginning is just outrageous.

Usually PTX just covers songs I don't really know or care about, but they make me enjoy them (e.g. pop songs). But in this case, they took a song I deeply and genuinely disagree with personally (it may mean well, but I loathe to imagine a world where there's no countries, no diversity, no religion, and people living only for today...basically a world where there's no future and nothing is good or objectively true or worth defending), and still PTX makes me tolerate it just for the sake of the harmonies. Gotta love the harmonies.

It may have been before your time, but it wasn't before mine. For those of us old enough to remember, this rendition always brings us to tears. IMO, _Imagine_ is the most important song of the 20th century; it may be the most important song of all time. It was John Lennon's masterpiece, the perfect song. It's frequently said that Pentatonix doesn't do covers, they do upgrades. This can lead to some anxiety on occasion - what if their idea of an "upgrade" is to twist a song into something unrecognizable? But that *never* happens with Pentatonix. Pentatonix always treats the original song, the songwriters, and the original performers with utmost respect. This leaves them with a problem, though. How do you improve upon something that is already perfect? Well, Pentatonix answered that question in this video. You improve the perfect song by making it more concentrated, more *itself.* John was murdered nearly 42 years ago as I write this in October of 2022, two more years than his entire lifetime, but he bequeathed us this song, this perfect, important song. I wish he were alive today to see what Pentatonix did with his legacy. He would be proud.

They are just as good live also if you want to hear Daft punk done live look up ptx off mic performances usually the first one in the video is daft punk but there are others just as good. i love seeing a new pentaholic :D we tend to attack a channel we see reacting to them in sort of a 'join us' way hahahahahahaha but they are so good and we want everyone to know how good they are! idk why they aren't super group status by now but then maybe they have it just like they want it.
