This performance is always so emotional for me! Such a homecoming episode with a hint of "well watch us now!" to the record label! And having mitch start it off! 😂 Perfect sign to the producers!

I get teary eyed whenever I watch this. I mean after watching them make the journey to what they are today fills me with pride, like they were my own kids lol!

Ben was a kind judge. We tried to tell you. The fact that he was nitpicking was the compliment because he only did that to the people who were already super skilled and could incorporate it. He is the good kind of teacher that gives critique based on the level of the student. He wouldnt nitpick on people that were not up to the level of that.

@@thesweetone8968 I'm aware of all that? Just pointed out since he always thinks so bad of ben, that his comments are reasonable based on the skill levels and that he's not a "mean for meanness sake" kind of judge... I'm confused what in my comment made it seem like I didn't know the context?

Thanks D, for airing this vid…I think it is one of their great ones!!! It was wonderful to see them come back on that stage with no pressure and present the “Finished Product”!!! P.S. Shawn truly was the very 1st Pentaholic…lol…he could not contain himself!!!

Someone from Sony got fired after this! 😂 I'm sure others have mentioned that PTX was dropped by from their label almost immediately after the end of Sing Off 3. So PTX gained their fame due to notoriety from the show, KZread videos, and a huge fan base and unbelievable first album, WITHOUT Sony's help! ♥♥♥

This was the next season, but was also 2 years later as the show was cancelled for a year in between. This was Home Free and Voiceplay's season.

You can literally see the 100s of hours of hard work & touring (after their win) in this performance. In the holiday medley they do the next year, they end with an original song.

They have an official video for this. Sounds almost exactly like the live version. They are just so damn good!

I loved the in your face with them starting off with Mitch, and then the cherry on top finishing with Avi , who never got solos during the show.

It is said that Shaun was the first Pentaholic. I believe that is true by his reactions during the show and especially this return visit. So nice to see them stick it to the record label and the producers who made them keep Mitch under wraps and I also heard did not encourage Avi to do more than bass. Great reaction!!💕💕

I love this performance! Now you need to watch Superfruit’s reaction to themselves on The Sing Off ☺️

Did you react to Pentatonix performance 14 with Nick and the video of them being crowned the winners? I did not see them nor did I see them listed on your Pentatonix playlist. Were they blocked or did you not react to them? Shawn was so happy to see them. His reaction was too cute. He looked like a proud papa.

Hello D, Isn't this just the best performance. Go PTX GO. Mitch starting and Avi ending was just superb. Goosebumps every time - when you know where they are coming from and where they are now.. There is a video of them before the performance when they are being introduced and meet one of the groups - nice surprise there. Now on to Superfruit doing their critique.

Perfection. I always thought of this as a present to Shawn plus a gift surprise for Ben - Avi singing.

I don't know if you realized it, but Avi didn't sing a single solo note in all their performances on the Sing Off. It was wonderful that they came back and gave him that final solo part. You can see how much Shawn and Ben enjoyed that. It was nice to see them rested and not so stressed out as they had been on the show. There is one other time they came back on the Sing Off. They did a Christmas medley, and it was also wonderful. Hope you react to that one too.

I love how they change up the rhythm mid-song. So cool.

We told you there was more from the night they won though. Performance #14. That was the one that each group could pick a judge to sing with, but PTX chose the host Nick. They did a popular song that his former band (98 Degrees) originally did, with Kirstie & Nick doing the leads. Kirstie sings the Spanish parts.

Thanks for doing this one. This was the season that Home Free won The Sing Off.

Sing Off the final "surprise" from Pentatonix and the first time Avi was heard singing melody.

I don't think any of the judges heard Avi do a solo until this performance.

It's amazing how much they matured in a year. Especially Scott....he doesn't look like a high school boy anymore lol

It was 2 years because the show got cancelled and then got renewed (magically around the time Pentatonix was getting traction..). But yes. He went from "just started college" to a young adult.

Hey D, just wanted to let you know 2011 was season 3 of Sing Off but they didn't do a season in 2012, so 2013 is Season 4 and the Season of Home Free and Voice Play, apparently they had to really push to get it back on the schedule, 2013 is also a shorter season so Home Free & Voice Play really had to on top of everything from the first night. I'm in Australia, so I've never seen any of the Sing Off shows, I'm just going off what I have seen written in the comment sections. Also there is an episode in 2013 that has PTX chatting with the remaining groups to give them 'advice' about how it feels to be in the Final

You should ease up on Ben. His timely criticisms were on point and helped mold them into what they became. They were smart to listen. Loved your reaction, as usual. Recommend their cover of Attention.

There's a moment where you see Jewel (the new female judge) point out Avi because he's bouncing around and dancing all over. This season with Home Free, the judges kept playfully poking fun at Tim for using limited movement as a bass (I believe Ben called him a singing refrigerator). It's kind of a callback to Sean being amazed at Avi being able to dance while staying on-key as a bass.

They have an official video with this song also. Many Pentaholics have watched the other groups performances from Season 3 mainly out of curiosity. I found a PTX early performance that is little known “Love, Love, Love” on Scott Allen’s channel. He is the songwriter, maybe? You’ll blow people’s mind if you react to it.

Love it, D, this was great! You got me thinking, though. Have you checked out Home Free's run on the Sing Off? If you haven't, it'd be so interesting to see what you think about their performances. It's a shorter season, I think 6-7 songs.
