I really think you would like their evolution of Ariana Grande. It is amazing, and their newest member Matt is absolutely killing the bassnotes on that one. Awesome reactions to PTX, thank you.

Also note that these older medley videos are one-take videos. They do these whole medleys in one take! That's pretty impressive!

I really enjoy watching reactors watch their live performances - like this, or from things like Popspring concert - somewhat less hassle with copyrights, and unless it's a really crappy fan cam, their renditions are equally mind blowing

You've mostly done Pentatonix medleys / evolutions but they do a wide variety of musical styles. They are best known for their six Christmas albums, with creative covers of Christmas standards, holiday pop songs and some originals. But they also have several albums with covers of pop songs from a range of decades and genres -- Motown, country, pop divas, J- and K-pop, EDM, etc. And they have original songs on a lot of their albums, including two albums of all or mostly originals. Suggestions for originals -- "Love Again", "Sing", "Happy Now"

My understanding of how they get a clean one take version is that they record 4-5 clean versions, then they pick the best one. I can only imagine how many attempts it takes to get a clean live version. The mainstream a capella groups out there are all good, but they all have their niche. But in my opinion PTX is the best, the OG, just past 11 years, and are the most mainstream and successful of the groups out there.

The studio said (in 2016, so might not be true for the later few) they did 4 or 5 takes, period... and of those usually 2 or 3 are just them trying different things. Which means only 1 or 2 have issues. The information is about an hour deep in a compilation of videos various PTX-adjacent people who couldn't make it to a PTX convention did to say hi to the fans. I have a link around somewhere but can't find it offhand.

Beyoncé is one of Scott's (tall blonde) favorite performers, and Kevin (beatboxer) named one of his classical cellos Beyoncé. To hear Mitch's vocal control in another live performance, check out their cover of Gold by Kiiara. If you've never heard the original, listen to it first - what Kiiara needs sampling and electronic manipulation to perform, Mitch does flawlessly and naturally. Kevin and Avi kill the bass and percussion, and the Trio (Scott, Mitch, Kirstie) does a "round" in the last verse that shows the vocal control they all have.

I would really recommend some of their originals which are awesome. Try Love again, Sing or Can't sleep love. They have the most amazing voices. I believe that Mitch (in the glasses on this one!) has the most beautiful voice in the world.

Have you reacted to Problem yet? If not, you can see Mitch's proficiency at rapping in that song. They are all insanely talented but for my money Mitch is the most vocally talented of them all. As for overall talent, that has to be the pre-med graduate, Carnegie Hall saxophonist, Yo-Yo Ma cello competition runner-up, Mandarin speaking cello-boxing inventer (I'm still talking about the same person here), Pentatonix's vocal percussionist Kevin Olusola.

Loved it! I really like watching your Pentatonix reactions and hearing your comments! Thanks for another great reaction! I suggest reacting to Sound of Silence or Imagine. They aren't medleys, obviously, but I really think you'd appreciate the way they all stay out of each other's way. No one ever overpowers the lead but their solid backing vocals and their one of a kind bass and percussion sections can create what we pentaholics refer to as their 'wall of sound'. It really is an experience!

Please make a playlist of your PTX reactions so I can come back and watch them again and again. I learn something new every time and come back to rewatch them over and over again. May I suggest you check out Voiceplay. They did a cover of Stranger Things and Dream On my Aerosmith that is phenominal. Their bass singer blows up speakers at concerts .You will not believe what he can do.

Great analysis! Beyoncé is great in her own right. What amazes me is how PTX can sing that many songs, changing melodies, transition, beatbox, WITH OUT INSTRUMENTS, and never miss a beat! I've heard it said they do 4 or 5 takes in one shot each then decide which one they think sounds best. Crazy! If you haven't heard La La Latch or Havana, I recommend them. great reaction again Sean, looking forward to the next one whether its a cover, a medley or one of their originals I think you'll enjoy it as much as we do. As for why i'm into PTX i love hearing Mitch because basically 45yrs ago i was him but a bad habit (SMOKING) killed my vocal range although on a good day i can still do some of it.
