Two years ago my brother-in-law passed away after a long illness. I went to you tube looking a rendition of this song by Celtic Thunder, An irish male singing Grpu[ My brother-in-law liked them I wa stunnef to this group in all white singing Amazing Grace! I listenend to them and was floored that I had never heard them on the radio or.TV. I loved their version and did research and found thAt they had been been together and were a capella. been a pentaholic ever since. Tehy just don't sing anything badly It's a Joy to listen to them

They are the greatest singing group EVER! I'm 80 and have seen them all. Love your reactions. Keep up the good work.

Btw...their location at "Wayfarer's Chapel" is in Palos Verdes, California (Los Angeles County) and is on the edge of their bluffs. So, the body of water you see off in the distance, and more clearly behind Matt, is the Pacific Ocean. There is very often fog present, so, I'm guessing the light misty effects you see are more than likely real.

The chances of this group coming together was so infinitesimally small that only the powers that be in the universe could have made it happen. I’m glad they decided to do that to allow us mere mortals to have something to brighten our days. Three kids meet as children who love to sing and decide to keep singing together in school and local theater. As a side note, can you imagine trying to keep those three reigned in in high school choir? Scott, Mitch and Kirstie say that she did help them learn to blend better. They become life-long friends. Scott befriends Ben Bram who helps Scott get on The Sing Off. Ben introduces Scott to Avi. Scott talks Kevin into giving up med school at Yale and joining four strangers to compete on The Sing Off. They actually win the show. Sony drops them so they decide to start building their Pentaholic following on You Tube. Viral videos, and great music follows, and they get resigned to Sony and the rest is history. If anything happens differently along that path Pentatonix does not exist, and the world is a lesser place.

This was 3 months ago so I don't know if you will see this but I'm binge watching your PTX videos and I agree about arriving in heaven and hearing this. However believe it or not "Dreams" that WAS by the cranberries is what I think you would hear on your way to the pearly gates. I imagine an extra long escalator to heaven and that song by them is what you would hear.

Finally, some one who knows what that one low note is. Having attended enough Police and Fire Dept funerals I have heard Amazing Grace done by bagpipes. Kills me every time.

When Matt (the bass) and his fiance, Sarah, were looking for a venue for their wedding, which is in a few days, they found this chapel. They mentioned it to the rest of the group, and they loved the idea of filming this video there.

D.....I just love your reactions to this group! The head shaking, stank faces (when you make an ugly face cause it's so good), so stunned you swear lol! Same way I feel/felt for EVERY SINGLE SONG THEY DO!! And Kevin.....that man has so so so so much talent...beatboxer, cello, saxophone, piano, speaks Chinese and sings like an angel.....one of the most talented people I have seen!

It's a truly ethereal place.

My favorite version of this song… 🧡 The first time I remember hearing this song was at my grandmother’s funeral in a tiny, country chapel with no heat. It was snowing in January. I’m Native American and this was the only English song sang during her service, a cappella, by three of her female cousins, Light was streaming through the windows onto them. The chapel was standing room only and people were wrapped outside around the chapel. (In the snow) Yet, yoy could have heard a pin drop. I was 10. It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life as it was the first time I understood Grace and Redemption. I knew she was in Heaven. No other version of this song has moved me as much since like me like this version. (And, every version of this song moves me. But, this one is, like you said… beauty. Grandma Nora would have loved it.)

Havana, for sure! PTX abandons their PG profile in this one and goes all sultry, hot Cuban nights. Love it!

Location is at a church in Orange County, Calif, just outside of Los Angeles.

If you listen to the drone in the beginning, it is reminiscent of the traditional bagpipes associated with the song. I might also add that KIrstie really delivers in her solo.

Great reaction. A rare example of Mitch singing in the typical tenor range, and he knocks it out of the park, as well as setting up Kirstin's solo beautifully. The location was Wayfarers Chapel, Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Interestingly enough, Matt found them this location when he was scouting potential wedding venues ... and he and his lady-love Sarah Bishop were just married this past Monday, January 2. From the few wedding photos I've seen online, maybe they did use this location.

Stepping in late to say that I doubt they used this church. It isn’t very big so it really limits the size of your guest list. My cousin got married there many years ago and it really doesn’t hold many people. Edit: Per their website: “The Chapel can accommodate up to 100 guests, plus your wedding party.”

I cried the first time I heard this. They can move you with their emotional singing and, as you say, the beauty of their voices. Best rendition of this song I have ever heard. I really enjoy your reactions to PTX and am happy you are on your journey down the rabbit hole. They have over 200 music videos from 2012 to the present and all of them are powerful. It has been said many times that when they do a cover they improve it and make it better. They never disappoint.

As several listeners stated, this was at the "Wayfarer's Chapel in Palos Verdes California, also known as The Glass Church." In the late 80s and 90s, I was a wedding and live event videographer and I had the pleasure of shooting 2 weddings there. One in the morning after the fog had lifted and one in the very late cold afternoon in December. Beautiful sunset wedding looking over the Pacific Ocean. This particular PTX video brings me back to those weddings. All that said, it's obvious that we are all blown away by the talent of this group. The one issue that I have with reaction videos is when there is something as beautiful and emotional as this music is, I find it frustrating to enjoy the content when the KZreadr constantly pauses the video to "react" to it. I understand the point of watching a reaction video and I can easily just watch these videos on their own without reactions, but in the case of great music or a great comedian, I want to share and enjoy the performance without interruption. I hope that your reaction as the person who is presenting the video validates my reaction which makes for a better experience for me as the viewer. Just my 2 cents worth. Thank you.

Thank you for doing this reaction! You said it "Absolute Perfection". This is one of my favourite Pentatonix songs All of them singing beautifully with that back drop of the church in California, and the message of the lyrics. Matt starting so warm, Scott so soulful with some riffing, angel Mitch using his lower register with vibratos and runs and singing with such conviction, Kirstie just belting it out and Kevin closing it so sweetly. How did this escape a Grammy last year? In any category? Best Arrangement? Best Duo or Group? Best Instrumental/A Capella? Best Spiritual?

Recommend their Rather Be, Seasons Of Love (televised version), Come Along, and their original, Happy Now.

He started out in the first few seconds complaing about Matt wearing just a blazer and could see his nipples through it which isnt right for a song like that...I agree with you...must have been great weed....lol

Both my GMa's would of told them they are dragging it pick up the tempo Voices a great but arrangement needs work by way Bo my GMa's born in 1874 and married at 16 in 1890 GMa Bays was a school teacher and church choir director GMa Bumpus was also a church choir director Both played a # of instruments and sang like the Mountain ppl they came form PA & TN respectively they both hated to hear a tone dragged out
