10 years on, Chili Peppers have returned with John and Ryan has worked on that new album. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Dave in the ITL: "You need to have the vocal In your face..., well..., well... it's not like I did make the rules..". You are such a funny man :) I don't get tired of all these "Pensadoisms" :)
Man is a legend.
Dave and Herb thank yall so much for this series. This is incredibly valuable information on every single episode. Just wanted to say thanks.
Loved the live show with Ryan! bout to check it out again and take notes. Thank you so much for doing these shows.
"Mix is a verb" - love it
Fantastic ITL this week.
Frick Dave, this episode just blew my fricking mind. The last 4 episodes were short and sweet and then this one just kick me in the face! SO MUCH INFORMATION HERE! thanks bud.
Izotope definitely raised the bar in so many respects. Great show guys!
The video is long because Pensado repeats every word he say at least 3 times, but doesn't matter he's awesome !
Great show, great ITL. Thank you : )
GREAT ITL, yes!
Pensado's Place is applicable over many different industries in terms of the approach and experience that these professionals have. It's also unique because everyone on the show is a professional listener, so the interaction is genuine. Keep it up guys!
awesome.
A couple mentions of Tom Elmhirst this episode. Does this mean what I hope it means? I've been dying for him to come on the show. He is a genius. He really knows how to make those classic rock and motown sounds work in a contemporary context (low end, punch, clarity, etc). That's why I love listening to Amy Winehouse "Back to Black". It sounds like a motown record, but it hits hard. It solves that issue of remembering old records sounding better than they actually do (as Hewitt mentioned).
Herb says Los Angeles every episode! its hilarious! I don't know if its an inside joke or not but its hilarious!
The izotope alloy is great. Its almost like a channel strip plug in in a sense where u can do "all in one" i tend to use it on busses. Izotope has another plug in called nectar that sounds better on vocals. Great tips about the reverb choices. I been wondering about the best way to choose reverb in certain instances. Lol. Great work once again!
Izotope rulez!!
I can never pay attention to the questions in corner office cause G.I.'s voice is just so amazing, you get lost in it.
Alloy 2 looks pretty descent! That plus Ozone 5 looks like a pretty complete match
Bring Rick Rubin in! Sparks will fly. You guys put on the coolest show out there. Kudos!
class act ITL: a little too fast. Needed a few more bars for each comparison. Those long tails after the pausing a bar or two could be distracting. No need to say "with" and "without". It ruins the mental imprint of the previous sound being compared. The visual of the mute button is sufficient.
Hi, umm, who caught the name of the second plugin for messing up the room mikes? :)
oh robert facey fr Jamaica
get commissioner Gordon he mixed lauryn hill Miseducation album
When they're not singing push whatever to the top. Eventually that gets us to DEATH MAGNETIC, an album where regular people noticed the Guitar Hero version sounded better... Rolling Stone: "Jensen said the mixers of the album are to blame for the compression problems." -_- #MakeMusicNotLoudness
yes she does but trust me that's not saying anything
