Two states isn’t the only hope for peace. The other is one state, equal rights and full right of return for Palestinian refugees. Yes, this would be the the end of the Jewish ethnostate. I don’t see ending ethnostates as a bad thing.

But in terms of actual likelihood, and not just wishful thinking, two states is it. But for arguments sake you are not going to pull down borders between two ethnicities that have been in conflict for generations and expect success and reconciliation within even two generations. This isn't the west wing. and any success there potentially is in a one state would be contingent on how many of the old guard from previous regimes were made political non persons. Whole age groups need to be prevented from participating in the upper echelons of policy making in Israel and Palestine before you even get close to the ghost of a fart of hope. It would be the end of the ethnostate but not the end of the *dream* of an ethnostate on the religious right, which is arguably the bigger problem. Not everyone in Israel is a genocidal maniac, but enough are.

@@Stevies_Precog_Gym_n_Spa420 What I described is actually just strict application of international law, to the letter. Make IS stop the multitude of illegal things it’s doing and allow Palestinians all the rights they’re entitled to. Whatever happens, the process needs to be removed from the clutches of IS and US.

@@Stevies_Precog_Gym_n_Spa420 I tried to reply, but it got deleted. KZread hates international law. In short, all I’m saying is follow the international law to the letter. It shouldn’t come down to personalities and prejudices.

Words don’t mean anything, only actions. Libs and Labor have basically supported Israel and its war crimes.

Does Penny Wong think that Palestinians are the Middle East equivalent of the Uyghur? Is this a Chinese ancestry thang?

Most pro-Palestinian westerners want a two state solution, but the Palestinians themselves do not. They have rejected it every time it was all but agreed on between them and the Israelis. They want to do to Israel what Israel is doing to Gaza and then some.

What where the details of that deal, what was offered?? Semantics. The country has crossed a line big time and hopefully the court find them guilty. What happened to the babies in the incubators when the power was shut off??

@@NathanCroucher Seven times the Israelis and Palestinians almost came to an agreement and in the last minute the Palestinians pulled out. Why? Ask them and they will tell you on their manifestos: they don't want a two state solution, they want the final solution. Their openly stated aim is to destroy Israel and for Palestine to be free of Jews from the river to the sea. That's not semantics, it's facts you can easily verify by asking the Palestinians themselves. And if by hitting back at terrorists you think Israel has crossed a line, that line was obliterated by Hamas when they crossed over into Israel and murdered innocent Israelis, most of whom were pro-Palestinian leftists living in kibbutzes and had "good relations" with Gazans. Again: verify it for yourself. And as to your final question about the babies when the incubators were turned off: they were being used as human shields by Hamas, and when they died they were further exploited as "martyrs" by Hamas ... or they were rescued and evacuated to Israel by the IDF once they defeated the terrorists holding them hostage. But let me ask you a question: what happened to the Israeli babies when the ovens were turned on by Hamas terrorists on Oct 7 who then made their parents watch and listen to the screams as they babies were roasted alive? There's plenty of guilt to be shared by all parties for any honest court to find everyone guilty, though not of the same crimes or to the same extent, and history will ultimately prove that to be so, if there is any justice in the world.
