@@SportFishingAsia I saw you had the 6000. I have the 5000. I have just gotten into fishing in the northeast Florida beaches and jetties. I am taking it out tomorrow to catch a migrating fish known as the pompano.

Why not use the rod for a bit before considering upgrading? Rods these days can handle quite some big ones. Have fun!

Just bought this real for my medium action 7foot Shakespeare pole Pole itself has caught 5foot shark so glad to see this reel in action gives me some confidence

I figured it’s big as my surf fishing diawa reel set and seeing it catch sailfish and 5 foot shark I figured it can handle the surf

Yeah man, absolutely a tough reel. Hope you catch some nice fish with it.

Just got the wrath 5000. Hopefully going to take it out soon here in Southern California for Calico Bass, Rockfish and maybe Yellowtail or Sheepshead. By the looks of this video it should hold up fine 🤞

Not sure your exact reel model but the line capacity is printed around the spool. That should give you a good indication.

Reel ni memang murah dan berbaloi. Kami dah banyak kali pakai kat laut dan tarik macam2 ikan besar pun masih okay. Cuma mungkin design tak cantik sangat la :) Kami tak pernah guna Ryobi Virtus tu jadi tak boleh komen. Lagi satu baik bagi Penn ialah kalau kena after sales servis atau nak dapat parts gantian tak da lah susah sangat.

Am confident it'll be able to handle big fish on the surf. Not sure about the surf casting part however as we've not used this reel for that. Hopefully some readers here has and can comment.
