The fact that teller DOESNT actually eat a donut in the first trick is so good. So meta and backwards and hilarious. The audience thinks they're in on the joke because Penn tells them the 'secret', but really P&T are 2 steps ahead at all times.

Great trick! The "inner tube" wasnt an inner tube at all. It was a soild (but still very soft and malleable) rubber tube. So no air in it like a tradition inner tube. It had a silt in it that at a distance you wouldn't see. When the "inner tube" was on the rope had the natural integrity to stay in place, but when teller walked up to in under the blanket he was able to spread the "inner tube" apart to get it off the rope effortly. The real trick here is in the setup, with the donut trick story telling, you subconsciously had it in your mind that was what they did the second time, when in reality it was a completely different trick.
@user-gf6eu1ki7l

Perhaps a misguided idea, but judging how the rope has knots and noticeable blackbands at even intervals which became the gripping point, I wouldn't put it past it for there to be a cleverly hidden clasp mechanism in the middle of the rope, perhaps why teller had to twist the rope so much to get the tube off, and why, during the bounce, no deformities were visible on the tube.

Fool Us is fun and all, but I REALLY miss their Bullshit! show on Showtime. IMO, there's not enough skeptics ala James Randi(RIP) in the world today.
Inner tube trick...my solution. The rope is actually 2 pieces maybe connected by a magnet or velcro and Teller just pops the ropes apart then snaps them back together.
Reminder that Teller once ate a live cockroach without any hesitation. If you told me he actually ate the inner tube, I'd believe it. xD
Such goofs!
The first trick is a trick that really only those familiar with magic can really....really appreciate. Meta deception.

Love these guys, Teller didn't blow the tube up at the end. If that's what you all thought, they misdirected you heavily and made you think you knew how they did it while being comical. This is literally like someone saying "I'm going to rob the bank and walk right out the front door." LOL. These guys are so creative with their misdirection that they make your brain believe that's how it's done and sneak it right pass you. LOL!!
I'm glad Jim Norton is still getting work.

These guys have been around so long they had a cameo on miami vice.
I believe for the second part of the trick teller is eating a wad of black licorice giving the impression that he is eating the tire.

4:00 pause and zoom in next to Jimmy's right arm (his right, not yours!) and you'll see where the rope can clip apart/together. You'd think they could make that somehow yellow like the rest of the rope?

That black mark is there for Penn to know where to hold the rope. Notice that a few seconds after, Penn is holding the rope in that spot. You can also see another black mark where Jimmy is supposed to hold it. But Jimmy leaves that part of the rope hanging.
The rope was in two parts joined by magnets . Separate them release the tyre then rejoin the rope. Simples
Teller got to eat 2 donuts and one inner tube that night
It's the magician's donut and ribbon.
If you watch the first version of the trick Teller does it differently the first time. The donut is palmed in his left hand, not the right. Seemed like there was something a little fishy about the reveal.
I'm not ready for any of those two dying.
