Nice video…thank you! I found one of these reels on a rod at a yard sale for $20. Now I’m inspired to disassemble and get it all cleaned up.

Thanx for the video journey I did the floating processor ships in the early 90' s ,, Alaska coastlines, On the down time of processing herring, salmon, and crab, I was always standing by the rod and reel I got in sitka, And it turned me into a gear admirer,, Now I have accurats, tiburon s Van stalls, And I still collect what I used over 20 years ago 114' s 113's When they have been hot rodded With tiburon Xtra wide frames, Custom handles, so as not need to duct tape the palm of hand from hot spots, I let some one borrow my stock 113 special senitor, 279 yards of 80 lb mono,,, An 8 oz sinker, and salmon tail bait takes 5 minutes to hit bottom with 1 wrap of line on the spool . And he pulled up a 425 lb halibut,, He kept it We used the big ship crane to get it to top deck for processing ,,,

Nice videos, I am glad I found your channel. Keep them coming. I have only serviced Daiwa Sealine SHAs, Penn Senators, and a few spinning reels and I really enjoy seeing the differences in the models you work on.

Great time to release this video, allot of anglers are getting Cabin fever here on the east coast. Great way to kill some time before spring commission.

Your videos are really helpful and i was almost able to fix my Penn 113H Special 4/0 Senator, its a graphite frame, wide spool 113HLW. My problem is the spool gears remain attached to the spool and every instruction video i can find has the spool gears coming off freely from the spool when the reel in taken apart . I took my reel apart and replaced the eccentric thanks to your video, but I cant get it back together since the gears remain attached to the spool. Any suggestions? Do you have any idea what i am trying to explain? thanks

Yes. I did a video on the problem. You can watch it here kzread.info/dash/bejne/hJ2lvMGekd3fobA.html. Essentially, the pinion gear has rusted on to the spool shaft. You will need penetrating oil and perhaps heat to free it up. Watch the video and see if that helps - Thanks - Dennis

Great video. Working on my own 113h 4.0 but my clicker button is loose. The clicker arrow turns a bit with the reel spool. Can it be re-staked, or is this a replacement problem?

Sounds like a weak click spring. I am not sure if you can replace the one on your model. If you can't, you can usually gently repent the tabs inward to restore tension and tighten up on the click tongue - Thanks for asking - Dennis

how do i get line on the spool evenly? modern reels have a line guide but these older ones don’t so i have no clue what to do

  • @2ndChanceTackle

You need to guide the line back and forth with your thumb or index finger when you are retrieving the line. Your finger would mimic the action of the line guide - Dennis

I got pin out of bridge sleeve but I cannot get sleeve off. I've tried everything just won't budge

Give it a good spray of penetrating oil in the hole and let it sit for a while then try clamping the bridge top end in a vice before slipping a small screwdriver behind the sleeve and bridge to pry it up. Note, if you are turning the gear sleeve and the post pivot on the back of the bridge is also turning, then the sleeve is rusted on and you will not be able to remove it. Dennis
