He was always gossip girl, from the beginning. It got leaked before the reveal episode and the writers and producers rewrote the show to postpone the reveal. Thats why we have the episode of serena asking gossip girl to show and it was Dan.

exactly, it was supposed to be eric but since it got leaked last minute the writers decided to switch it to dan. in my head i still pretend eric is gossip girl tho cause otherwise 99% of the whole storyline makes zero sense

I just started watching gossip girl and I knew within the first couple of episodes that Dan was Gossip girl.

They might have been toxic but it's a tv show and to pretend they werent the most intriguing couple on the show would just be lying. They were as fun to watch as Jenny was unbearably annoying. Taylor was fucking cute/adorable but Jenny was the definition of the literal worst.

@@gustavoguimaraes5155 I read somewhere that it's supposedly Eric but a magazine got it right before the finale so the writers changed it. Which makes more sense because there are more than one occasion where Dan has to release a hit on someone in desperation because he needs a GG intervention.
