Everybody's had to make sacrifices in the past year. 500,000+ sacrificed with their LIFE. Sid can sacrifice by not having a whole arena cheer for him just once out of the thousands of times they have and will in his career. It's a perfectly honest take.

Congratulations Sid on playing your 1,000th NHL game. As a Caps fan I have hated Crosby but have always respected him for both on and off the ice. He is not only a hall of fame player but has been a great ambassador for the game of hockey and one of the faces of the NHL since coming into the league. It seems not too long ago that Sid reaching 1,000 games was not a sure thing. Glad he was able to come back and continue his hall of fame career. Great ceremony by the Pens organization as well, not that I would expect anything less from an organization lead by Mario Lemieux. Congrats again, Sid.

Life long Pens fan here. Man there have been a lot of battles between 87 and the great 8 over the last 15 years! It's absolutely incredible what Ovi has done in his career too. I just marvel at his durability. I'm waiting for him to catch Gretzky's goal record. With Sid and Mario I always wondered what they would have added to their already impressive resumes without the injuries ect. Anyway we have been blessed to watch these amazing hockey players!

@@VG-iq8xq - I totally agree with you. I actually got to meet Lemieux in DC once and he could not have been nicer. I always hated the Pens but after meeting him and after he came back out of retirement...I have nothing bad to say about him or the Pens organization. I was at the game when Sid and Ovi both scored hat tricks in the playoffs. It was crazy being there and witnessing those guys have a game like that. The best thing about both of them (Ovi and Sid) are that they are not only great on the ice but also great off. I also agree with your comment that we are blessed to watch these guys play. I hope they play many more years with their current teams. I definitely don't want to see either of them leave their current teams. It just wouldn't be right. Cheers to you. Good luck to your Pens the rest of the year. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy and that you do so as well.

@@Waders27 I can go with that for me swap Orr and Lemieux and right now Jagr and Crosby are interchangeable at 5. In a few more years Syd's locked at 5. Maybe pushes for Howe at 4 IDK?

Looks like it's easy for him to talk up other players but tough to be the centre of attention. You can get really spoilt having such a great player and ambassador for the sport. Congrats on 1,000 games and onwards. 🍾🎆

I read something recently that said if Sid never got injured as bad as he did, we would put him on the same level as guys like Tom brady, Michael Jordan..Goat talks basically.. & at 1st i thought that was such a reach, but seeing the shape he's still in & knowing he lost playing time in his prime; i can't be upset with that take.
