What kind of armor would you use for pork builds to counter act damage from your own pork fire
@cardboardninja2429
Жыл бұрын
There isn't any armor that you would use to defend yourself against your own porcs - the issue is that the thermal damage is going to pass through your whole build regardless of the parts that you use, and if it hits your generator with the fire... Ultimately the best thing to do with Porcs, even your own, is to not get hit.

If we put bullet resistant hyperborea at 10 pins how many pins should blast resistant parts be?
@cardboardninja2429

Blast resistant parts can be right behind bullet resistant parts, depending on how durable the bullet resistant part is.
@polus134 Жыл бұрын
26:21 So resistance only "lies" when you have multiple forms of it? So the averter does give the full ammount but if I also use the resistance co-driver they will result in more resistance overall but less individually? Example: I have Ermac Cabin with an averter supporting it. The entire build will get the ermac resistance when the perk is up. The ermac cabin itself will actually recieve less from its own perk because it is also getting resistance from the Averter. It still recieves more resistance overall but each source becomes diluted and individually "weaker" because of the formula?
@GorillaGongo
Жыл бұрын
yes. Otherwise you could reach 100+% resistance with Bastion. We tested and even with every possible resistance you can stack the bastion still takes frontal damage. it gets reduced but the effectiveness of the reduction decreases with each aditionak instance. Otherwise Bastion 50% Fusion 10% Cohort-Teammate 30% Grizzly 30% Averter 30% would give you 150% which means immunity or even getting healed for taking damage. But thats not how it works.
@polus134
Жыл бұрын
@@GorillaGongo Yes but my actual question is: Cardboard Ninja said that the averter which gives 30% resistance actually gives something like 26% cause of how calculations work. But now he said that the upgraded 10% of the cabin is actually flat 10% but once you add more resistance it gets reduced. now my question is, is this rule true for all resistance? Are they all flat until we add more? Averter does give the full 30%? When used alone?
@GorillaGongo
Жыл бұрын
@@polus134 understood. but i cant give you proper to that right now. cardboard?
@cardboardninja2429
Жыл бұрын
Alright, so I have a video about this... but assuming you don't want to watch the video that I made that completely explains damage resistance and damage reduction I'll just do it here: Damage BLOCKING (the kind granted by fusions, the Averter, Grizzly, etc.) is calculated as: Damage = Damage /(1+.X) Where .X is the damage reduction percentage. FOR EXAMPLE the Averter on your cabin makes all damage dealt to your cabin be DIVIDED by 1.3 (Averter being 30%). If you have the damage reduction fusion that's damage divided by 1.1. If you have damage reduction fusion AND the Averter then it's divided by 1.4. If you have a fully stacked Ermak perk and an averter AND the fusion then it's divided by 1.61, and if you added fully stacked Grizzly then it's divided by 1.91. So you never are "lied" to, per-se, and you don't actually get 'less' value out of having increased damage blocking, it's just that through the damage blocking formula damage asymptotes to 0, meaning you can never reach 0 regardless of the amount of damage blocking you get. SO, when I said that the 10% damage BLOCKING you get on the fusion functions identically to 10% bonus health, this is because the way that it calculates damage, it means the PART ITSELF is treated as though it has 10% more hitpoints. The amount of damage blocked is NUMERICALLY lower than a flat percentage of the same (because you DIVIDE DAMAGE TAKEN by 1.1, instead of multiplying by .9) but this evens out to be the exact equivalent of 10% more durability. Indeed, even the Averter with 30% damage blocking increases the EFFECTIVE HITPOINTS of the PART by 30% - basically meaning the resulting durability of the part is 30% more. In the above situation where you get 91% damage blocking (damage divided by 1.91) you effectively have 91% more health from your base part.

I don’t see anyone applying these armor mechanics to their hovers on Xbox. Everyone is still piling bumpers onto their builds. Is there an exception to the rules when it comes to high power score hover builds? Because I feel like my build disintegrates when using this type of armoring
@cardboardninja2429
8 ай бұрын
Everyone piles bumpers onto their build because of 2 reasons: 1. It feels safe - when in doubt slather yourself in high hitpoint parts. 2. Bumpers have unique geometry that lends itself to being used to protect weapons. There should be no distinguishing between high powerscore hover builds and any other powerscore - placing high damage reduction parts as first in-line will simply dramatically reduce the amount of damage your build takes shot-for-shot.
