It was in Bordeaux in 2019, and in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, that Pene Pati - who grew up in New Zealand - made his European debut. Some people compare him to Pavarotti. I would compare him to Jussi Bjorling. Either way he is superb.

I saw him as Nemorino tonight at the S F Opera and could not believe my luck in seeing him in this role! He's just fantastic in so many ways. Exquisite voice, amazing actor, and funny conedien!. Slavka (long last name) sang Amina and was also very very wonderful but there is something about this guy that is really special!!1
