    Do you think this will not work in a real fight. Practice makes perfect. This is not the ring. MMA will not work in a real fight. Those guys have to fight within the rules. In real fighting every thing goes. I can tell you that as a fact. I have been in real fights. How else would you learn. Street fights will teach you but these days people are pulling out guns. Don’t fight unless it is your job. Don’t go looking for real fights.

    People commenting about UFC, MMA etc dont even know how brutal Silat is and that most of the moves are banned in the UFC lol Keyboard warriors never cease to amaze me. As a student of Silat, I can say it's the most complete Martial arts out there for street fighting and self defence. Stop comparing a professional 'sport' with every martial arts out there until you've tried it yourself. And remember! UFC fighters go through such drills when training to perfect their skills.

    They're new fans that just learned about MMA, i never seen any old generations UFC fans trashed any other martial arts because they knew back then UFC are tournament to tested every martial arts, there's a lot of traditional Martial Arts practitioner who became a top contender and even champion, Silat is yet to be seen in UFC, just because it wasn't popular doesn't mean it's useless. In Indonesia, the Flyweight MMA Champion is a Pencak Silat fighter, he was mocked because of his style when he first started fighting in MMA and now a lot of people stay quiet

    @@elmoferrel3942 Thank you for your input. Keyboard warriors are so funny! UFC legends Bas Rutten and GSP are both Karate trained and advocates of this discipline, just look at them. Anderson Silva is trained in various Martial arts, look at his legacy 👌. Silat is superior but not fully understood or discovered by the west.

    I'm just proud he isn't in jail. This is called a joke. Sorry internet, not sorry. I was in the army for years. Half of what we did to pass time was make racist jokes and digs at each other. Not like we have TV or anything else to do. It built a sense of comradery and I'd have taken a bullet for any of my guys because I know they'd do the same for me. The world could actually learn a thing or two on how the military handles race. It's a massive melting pot that is full of minorities because we generally come from poor families. The pay and free training is alluring to people from the lower class who are struggling and want a better life, or know they were made for a higher purpose than to rot away in a slum. Just like system of a down said, why do they always send the poor? Because they bribe us with money, training we can use to get a job with after, free college, guaranteed home loans, lifetime healthcare and disability if injured, etc. They can't do that with people who are from the upper class as they already have all of those things. So, the Army is full of minorities, and we pass the time by making racist jokes at each other for fun. Jokes about having sex with someone's mom is also fair game. We switch it up once in awhile like that.

    @@Zhello79 Reaction time isn't enough mate, human action and reaction time are at odds, if you are hoping to move after someone has already initiated an action, you will lose more often than not. Head movement and hand trapping are based on proactive movement, you get yourself out of the way or in a position you can't be easily hit rather than try to block a strike. If you rely on reactions, you need to read a situation, then act, and be there first every time. People don't just throw static combos you know how to deal with, and they don't always move in the way you expect. Watch the shoulder-waist triangle and get ahead of them, blocking strikes like this just isn't practical, if it was the best dudes in the world would be using it.

  • @Zhello79

    @Zhello79

    @@AveSicarius Ofc, it takes more than that, as is the training involved in it I agree to that. But all and all people need to seriously train those things at least to have some sort of edge in combat. But even the physicality needs work, for example, footwork and striking power. Therefore all aspects in that sense needs work.

    Many people say that silat in competition appears very simple, just ordinary punches, kicks, and submissions, so it’s the same as standard kickboxing movements, not at all as complex as it has appeared to be. Man, real silat and silat for competition are different, because 90% of the movements in silat are banned in MMA or UFC because they are too dangerous and deadly. That's why they can only use standard punches, kicks, and submissions in competition. Because from the beginning, silat was designed to kill opponents instantly.

    Well, the main techniques of silat are combat based. Its not just for 1-1 situations in the ring, but for hundreds vs hundreds battles and more. In such scenarios, the initial combat, every one is using the most effective which is immediate striking, ie punch, kick, elbow, knee, stab, swing. Which is what you find in a typical mma/boxing match. But in typical mma match, you have rules. You have mandatory breaks. You cant hit the groin, for example. In combat, you dont have such liberties, so these blocks are dynamic. It helps you block when you are fatigued, and ready to follow up with moves that allow you to break the opponents windpipe after
