We arrived in Penang at midnight with our bicycles. Thankfully we had lalamove that was willing to transport our 7 bicycle bags/boxes to our homestay at Georgetown. It was a very nice old shoplot cum homestay at Lebuh Clarke, smack right in the middle of hot street. We all assembled our bikes right after that before hitting the crib. Next thing we know, we were already up and about just after 3-4 hours of sleep.
Breakfast was good and we headed off to our “durian hunt” ride. It will be a 68km loop ride in total, going through a few hill climbs and over orchards and towards Balik Pulau, Teluk Bahang dam before heading back into the town area, passing by Gurney Drive and into Lebuh Clarke once again.
We had such a wonderful day riding this loop and learnt that some parts of the trail would actually be off-limits during the fruit season due to the owners closing their farm for people to pass. Nevertheless, we had divine favour that allowed us to go through without any issue and managed to finish the loop well.
