Wow, your black thorn is so nice. Those selling at our place look difference, the colour is yellowish, the fresh is smooth but the seed is big. No, seedling durians are unpredictable, according to Glenn Tankard's book TROPICAL FRUIT... So it is maybe a very good idea to plant seedling durians.

that's actually land for new durian trees, it's just covered with a ground cover to help with soil erosion.

That might help irrigate during any dry months, and so increase production of tree growth and fruit. Who are permaculture designers?
