Yeh true but I reckon a lot of feedlots should use this video for new pen riders that may of never done it before which can be many these days! he probably could of still not let as many cattle out the gate still at a steady pace, some lane ways its best have gate wide open and some not depending on the sunlight, angle of pen and slope. When I work alone really avoid letting more out then need to or you stress them and cause more work for you and your horse. Sometimes some gates go inwards as much as not recommended unless your really experienced you can slip a sick beast out that way by putting it on the fence then down to the gate, with other cattle still near the gate on the inside, bit of a trick, but it works! Though if the cattle are lively it can be tuff but best way I can explain it is "its like a game of pool, line it up, be strategic and follow through" & "every pen and animal is different, that's the part a true pen rider enjoys the most!" :-)
