Well Adrien you have certainly inspired me to travel to that part of the island when next I’m in Bali....and I’m planning to be there in November provided the situation continues to improve...Is that area considered to be wetter than the southern side or was that just coincidence?....Also in normal situations are there reasonable food and dining options outside the resorts....Really enjoy the light and shade you put in ur commentary.

I think it’s probably similar to the South. We’ve had a very strong rainy season this year. I don’t think there are many/any dining options outside the few resorts. It’s a very local and undeveloped area. I hope it stays that way 🙏🏼

This popular oasis in the northwest corner of Bali has a number of artful resorts set on a little dogbone-shaped bay that's incredibly calm, thanks to its location within an extinct volcano crater protected by flourishing coral reefs. The beach is decent, but most people come to view the undersea wonders just offshore and at nearby Pulau Menjangan.

You’ve shown that Bali is more than Canggu, Kuta or Seminyak. Sadly most people never see all of wot Bali has to offer beyond the bars, beers and cheap massages in the tourist areas. I lived in Bali some time ago on a government posting and it gave me the opportunity to absorb the essence and the spirit of Bali. I can see that you have most definitely immersed urself there n u actually ‘Get It’ i sincerely hope u find someone to share ur experiences and life there, not sure wot ur type is, u never said lol. But I’m sure he’s on his way. Who knows, life is full of pleasant surprises. Thanks for a great vlog x

Hey Adrien, saw Janet Newenham's vlog on Sumberkima Hill in early Feb and now, with your video, it is definitely MUST stay at Sumberkima Hill Retreat. Done the road from Lovina (& Singaraja) to Gilimanuk several times, never thought to break it into staying at any of the Resorts along that stretch, but now I will. Have stayed in a couple of resorts in Bali where the owners have built the resort for tourists, and they are impressive, but this Villa Retreat seems to take the cake. So glad you met and showed us Jane. Thanks for showing us the reality of Bali, like the Horse riding. Wife loves horse riding and there are a couple of great horse riding places in Bali, somehow I don't think this would be one. Or even in 'The Best and the worst aspects of full-time living in paradise'. Having been in Kuta during Schoolies Week, I can so relate. Also, wife says lose the mo! Thanks Again

I wouldn’t do any of those activities you mentioned if I had a view and pool like yours. I’d just hang out with a book. I know what you mean when you say that sometimes you just have to get away. I couldn’t stand staying home any longer so right now as I type this today I’ve just driven myself 1300km to North Queensland to get a change of scenery and now I have a cyclone forming off the coast about to drench me with torrential rain. Lol. Sometimes you just can’t win.

I absolutely love your sunglasses: Oscar & Frank. I bought a pair after seeing your pair and I absolutely loved them….except they sent me a default pair. One arm was straight and the other curved and sat on my face lopsided. I had to send many pictures to prove they were faulty before they would send me a returned paid address because it wasn’t going to same place that originally sent them. I was so disappointed! They were dark blue and looked beautiful except for the manufactured flaw. I’m still looking for the beautiful sunglasses, in dark blue color.

I’ve never been in that area. Unless it’s near Loveina, because that’s the most norther place I’ve been in Bali.
