I love my S22i. Amazing bike, great workouts (even though they are not LIVE spin classes anymore but the recorded ones are still great), There's still some live outdoor rides which are very cool. The automatic resistance and incline is awesome.

If I had to choose between the basic bike and the s22i, I’d choose the s22i. I have the bike+ though and it’s amazing. I prefer Peloton’s instructors and the interface is way more user friendly, in my opinion.

I like the Peloton Bike plus with auto follow. Unfortunately the auto follow does not work for PowerZone classes. There is no reason the bike plus could not offer ERG mode like any other smart trainer/bike keeping one in the desired power zone. Also the bike+ could automatically adjust the resistance to match the terrain of simulated outdoor rides. Lastly there is no reason Peloton could not partner with Zwift and allow Zwift to run natively on the Bike+.

I found the Nordictrack Q Factor (150mm) to be more comfortable than the Peloton (170mm). Most people cannot tell the difference. I also feel the Nordictrack fits closer to road bike geometry and the Peloton is just odd, absolutely cannot replicate my road bike setup on it.

I had the S22i, it was a lovely bike. However, being locked into ifit only was a bummer. I now have a Yesoul bike and can run any fitness app I want.

Be sure to get thr extendend warranty on the S22i. I've replaced a few parts and I didn't buy the warranty and now that's its out of warranty, I'm out of luck.

Really, at the end of it, there's compromises in each that need to be considered. I love the idea of NordicTrack's heart rate adjusted workouts along with the incline/decline functions and the included fan. Clearly Peloton has a better studio experience on a sturdier bike but with less functionality (I was watching the S22's screen wobble a lot in this video). What might sway me toward Peloton as a whole would be upgradability - if that truly happens. I have a dust-collecting NordicTrack FreeStrider that will have to go shortly simply because they removed support and connectivity from it just shy of 8 years, so no ability to continue with routines that I had built up over the years. Essentially, it's no longer usable as you cannot build a routine into the machine itself and sadly it will now go toward a landfill (hopefully some of it is recyclable). In my opinion, it could have had an extended life simply by giving it a new screen and processor that would keep it fresh and capable of the new workout routines. For now, I'm on the fence for any new equipment unless I see that the manufacturers include some sort of long-life plan. I hate the idea that I've now got to find something new simply because the manufacturers are more concerned with pushing new product. I'll keep my Concept2 rower simply because it's a great machine that has considered this despite that the interactivity is still subpar.

What bike would you recommend ? I like Peloton and I like Scenic rides on iFIT. But I don’t like them that much to keep a long time subscription. So because of that I’m looking at Concept 2 bike, Rogue Eco bike or Keiser M3i. The downside of the first two is that they are too loud and they are better suited in the garage. I like Keiser because it’s quiet and it can be placed anywhere.

@@Marian1st. Hmm...recommend? Well, I'm still on the fence and a friend of mine threw me for a loop by suggesting a Carol Bike. It's a Rehiit bike that you can use with different programming but can also work with what Peloton offers. It's pricey as heck and I've got some healthy skepticism over the whole Rehiit program. The simplest is the Concept 2 (but has positives such upgrading the monitor as my own Concept2 rower has been around now for 16 years now) - it lacks the programming depth of NordicTrack or Peloton. Never really considered the fan operated bikes such as Concept 2 or Rogue as I don't think they're as good at duplicating randomized programs in terms of reactive resistance. I'm still digging into issues so that I can have a single data store through Garmin as that makes the most sense for me. I've been able to do it with apps for the Concept 2, but haven't found that functionality for any other manufacturer. In terms of overall functionality, I'd say the NordicTrack with it's incline and heart-rate based programs are ahead in terms of as closely mimicking a real-bike experience. Peloton worries me from a liquidity perspective - whether it will be around in the long term (and also has issues with compatible bikes as well). My 2 cents worth.

NordicTrack s22i great before the monitor fails. Most of the people I talk to and mine as well shell out about $550.00 every two years on monitors. Well, I did it once after two years. Never again. I give NordicTrack an 8.5 for the bike, and a -5 for longevity.

Price? Peloton smoke checks everyone in how expensive they are. Its 2500 for old tech and a bike that isnt as good as the nordic. Then you have another $44 subscription. The proce went up $500 in a year but the tech became even more outdated. Then the hidden fees such as the fact that the pedals are rated for one year and the total warranty is 1 year. Meanwhile i can buy a nordic at best buy with the best buy protection plan and thats 2 years covered bumper to bumper

I have had the S22i for 3 years. I regret buying it over the Peloton. The Peloton software and hardware is better. The incline in nice on the S22i, but the software is slow an buggy. Also, I always seem to have an issue and need to reboot, reset, call customer service. It is super hard to get into a routine and stay in a routine, when the bike is unresponsive. Do more research on this bike and others. hopefully the new interface is better than the S22i.

@@Sowyer1337WARNING: If anyone is on the fence about buying this bike or any bike with a built-in screen, DON'T DO IT. The built-in screen has major network connection issues, just Google around and you'll see. I live in AZ and the time zone is MST and even after making sure the bike was set to MST it still set the time an hour ahead. When I set it to PST it would keep the correct time but that's not the correct TZ. I checked my router and the date/time zone is correct. No other devices on my network have time or connection issues, just this bike. Tying everything to the screen is really frustrating. The incline and resistance adjustment cables are attached to the screen so if you take the screen off, the controls won't work on the bike. If you don't want to pay the $30+/month membership fee the screen is useless because you can't even watch Netflix or any other streaming service without paying for their subscription or using some workaround that will eventually be patched over. Yes you read that correctly, you can't even download a streaming app because it's behind a paywall. So say you don't want to use their expensive workouts, you just want to watch Netflix. Well you have to pay for the iFIT subscription just to gain access to the Netflix app. Don't feel like you want to stare at a big huge blank screen, you just want to watch your TV instead? Nope. Gotta leave the screen attached so the controls on the bike work. What happens when the screen goes out? You have an expensive paper weight. This is the Apple version of a stationary bike. I would HIGHLY recommend avoiding this bike at all costs. In fact I would recommend avoiding any equipment that relies on a built in screen because chances are it won't function without it. There isn't even an on/off button on the screen or anywhere on the bike at all. They recommend you unplug the device every day in order to preserve the longevity of the components. Um....what? I work in IT and if there's one thing you NEVER do is unplug a device from the wall to shut it off. You do what's called a graceful shutdown by shutting the device down from within the operating system. Yanking the power cord is going to do far more damage to equipment than leaving it running. The screen is basically an all-in-one computer with the CPU, RAM, etc built into the screen. Who here that has an AIO or iMAC computer shuts it off by yanking the power cord out of the power outlet? Yeah, nobody because that's idiotic. That also applies to this bike's screen. I've had a bike for five years that cost $500 no screen attached and has a holder for an iPad. Zero issues. I would suggest buying a bike like that. My mom paid thousands for this Nordictrack and day one it's nothing but issues. Avoid at all costs.
