I've removed my door multiple times in the past to clean and lubricate the rollers and wanted to point out that on my door you can't simply lift the door and slide the bottom out. That's because you need to be able to lift the door high enough so that the rollers will clear the track that they are riding on. When my door height is adjusted up (by lowering the rollers with the adjustment screws) so that the door latch is at the proper height, there isn't enough room above the door to raise it enough to slide the bottom out. If you find yourself in the same situation, you need to insert a long screwdriver into the holes in the door and adjust the rollers up so that the rollers will clear the track when the door is lifted. You'll need to reverse this process when the door is reinstalled.

Thank you, Paul. I have the exact same Pella door. BTW, the doors are warrantied for 20 yrs. Pella would send you new hardware if your doors are less than 20 yrs.

we were told hardware was warrantied for 10 - so there was a charge for the rollers. 20 years for non laminated glass. We have the Designer Series purchased in 2006

You do not have to take off the bumpers, simply close the door the take off the guide and lift off. I installed my new door in 2007 and just replaced rollers on 3/10/23

This is true. I have the identical door and all i did was take off the guide. Then again, it might depend on the length of the door track, and/or where the installer drilled the holes for the guide.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the video. You make it clear to see & understand. Our door looks almost exactly the same as your door. Do you knoiw if Pella doors would all use the samr roller as the one you suggested? Our door was installed in 1998.

My door was hell..like square rollers. This got me in. Pulled em. Now rolls like an almost new door. Could you pack em with grease?

You may want to add a comment about removing old rollers that don't have the tabs on the side like yours did.

I absolutely cannot get the old roller assembly out of the door. My door looks exactly like yours and it has phalanges. We replaced the roller assembly on the same door (downstairs) and don’t recall having any trouble removing the old roller assembly. It works like a charm. Any ideas? We tried using pliers, a small pry bar and even a hammer and it only came out about 1/4 inch. We hit it with WD40. Then we have up

Mine was tight too. i started prying it up evenly with 2 screwdrivers on each side. Then used a fairly large aluminum pry bar to finish it off. I noticed the pin rusted on mine and was the likely culprit for causing the binding... If still no joy, and you haven't watched it yet, another guy posted a video on how to fabricate, and use, a hook and slide hammer to remove it. Hope this helps!!
