For greater stability, you can use a bar with angles of 45 degrees. It looks a bit like frame houses

Are there no spears allowed in Buhurt? Or is there a Hoplite equivalent? Seems like a 4 man team could form a small but formidable phalanx....

Stabbing is off limits in some leagues but vendors do sell spears, so people do use em. Buhurttech sells spears.

How’s the wood wrapped in rubber feel? Is it like hitting someone in armour or does the Pell need something extra to absorb more of the impact?
