Pelican Bass Raider 10e: Does it fit my needs?
Спорт
I recently purchased the Pelican Bass Raider 10e fishing boat to gain access to a lake near my house. But, to actually be useful the boat has to meet four important criteria that I've created. How does the little vessel stack up?

Excellent idea with the dolly, will be building one soon. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent video. I fish forest preserve lakes and also would like to fish deeper weed beds. Love the dolly that you made too. What a perfect Christmas present to myself. Tight lines to you

You literally answered every question I have about this boat. I think I'll be getting this shortly. I recently moved to Asheville NC and there are a TON of small ponds, lakes and rivers to fish here. I watched another video of this boat performing on a river and I think, like you, it covers all of my needs. Great video!

Well done video, I had a bass power I bought used from a fishing club buddy and wow did it serve me well. In northern California I out fished big bass boats by studying the areas fish came out of main lakes in early spring. I would tie off on islands under water with brush above and have great success. Here's to boat safety and tight lines. Louis

Man, Your video is simply amazing, it truly is the definition of how great America is! I used to fish out of the 8ft and 10ft pelicans A TON prior to 2011 and having 3 kids . Here we r, in 2021 and even tho we have a 20ft boat for recreation….. I am fixing to order a 10ft pelican and a 55 ft trolling motor…… and let these kiddos experience thing other than tv and video games! I am an avid “gym” dork, so when I first saw ur dolly I was like oh lord. I stand corrected, the design and functionality is GENIUS! I need to know how to build it, Im a 2 on a handyman level🤦🏼♂️

Bruh! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Your criteria for the boat was my exact criteria. They sell this boat at academy. I didn’t want a big bass boat because I have no where to store one, plus I don’t want one. I want something small and light weight, and easily maneuverable by hand. Thanks so much for this video.

Glad it was useful! It seems, like us, many prefer the simplicity and convenience of a small, lightweight boat like this. It travels easy and can get in those out of the way shallow areas. I really enjoy it! Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for this well thought out video. Loved the idea of simply leaning it up against the wall of the garage. I plan to get one and use it in the freshwater canal behind our Florida house. I'm needing to come up with a way to get the boat up and over the lip of the seawall. Please share any thoughts you might have!
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404

Thanks for the feedback! A word of caution: Another viewer said leaning it on the end could damage the seal. I’ll likely make something that supports the hull this spring to avoid that potential issue. The seawall challenge sounds like a fun project to figure out (maybe a pulley system or a ramp?). Good luck!

Haha you and I had the same parameters and settled on the same rig! I’d invite you to make one alteration tho. Storing the boat on its side can weaken the seal between the two layers so a pool noodle or just anything the lessen the weight put on that seal will keep it from wearing out. Most of the water that gets in the pontoons comes thru the seal.

Thank you so much Richard!!! I had given that a passing thought but talked myself out of it. I think I’ll create something like a “U” shaped piece of wood to extend to the side of the boat and take the pressure off of the flange altogether. So, so appreciated!

Hello Munisha! Thanks for the comment! I put the dolly behind a shed that’s a few yards from the water, so in my case it’s simple. But at a public area I’d either have to chain it to a tree/structure or walk it back to my vehicle. Thanks again!

Thanks for the comment! It’s been holding up well for me. No problems at all. A few viewers have mentioned leakage but it doesn’t seem to be a widespread problem. What I have heard is that storing it outside can be problematic, so I don’t recommend that. Good luck and thanks again!

A few questions: What size wheels? How much are they? What are the metal pieces on the dolly for? Do you have plans we can download? Looks perfect for our needs!
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching out! The wheels are 8” pneumatic rigid casters and were about $15 bucks each at Harbor Freight. The metal pieces are a retrofit providing more surface area coverage to keep the dollie from pivoting underneath if you are traversing over rough grassy terrain or a small ditch (annoying!). Sorry, no plans but pretty simple to make. Hope this helps.
