Fantástica medusa!

I was stung by one of those 10 days ago (we have lot of Pelagia Noctiluca jellyfish in the Mediterranean sea). During the sting in the sea I felt like high voltage electricity was striking my body and immediately got out of the water. I had a lot of itching for days (now going better) but I still like and admire this jellyfish, especially the fact that it glows during the night, the way it moves and that it has so long tentacles.

Nick Gar i was sting by she wen i was a kid but i urinate on the bite and the swelling was calmed

Nick Gar i hate them so much they have become so common where i live , and i get sting by them at least 5 times a year they ruin our touristic season

I was stung 6 times during the same day. It was in a beach crammed of them. I didn't realize until I got stung by one, and then my friend realized they were everywhere. I got stungs in arms, shoulders and legs. And indeed, like some have said, it felt like electricity, not comfortable.

В сентябре 2018 мы отдыхали в Марбелье (Испания). Там было много таких медуз. Укус болезненый- как раскаленным утюгом.Полчаса болело сердце. Сам ожог болел неделю, потом стал чесаться. Месяц спустя следы ожога на руке остались. Хорошо что не на лице. Другая медуза была невидима, но ощущение как будто запутываешься в длинных волосах. Ощущение как будто ты схватился за оголенный электрический провод. Через час час весь живот покрылся сыпью. Две недели сильно пекло и чесалось. Люди на пляже старались ложиться от меня подальше- наверное боялись заразиться.

Io la presi in un gomito in Corsica. Una scossa elettrica, come se cento spille arroventate mi avessero colpito. Incredibile che un essere così piccolo, il cappello sarà stato 5 cm. di diametro, possa fare così tanto male.

È possibile toccarla solo prendendo gli la testa è l'unico punto dove non ha tentacoli attento solo che alcune specie sono molto furbe possono afferrare se disturbate

@@darkangel44.5 in realtà questa è una delle poche meduse che hanno la tossina anche sulla cupola. Lo so perché mi ha punto ed è stato dolorosissimo.

Mi ha pizzicato giusto un'ora fa sta infame. Colpa mia che invece di allontanarmi appena l'ho vista, mi son avvicinato nuotando per capire se era una medusa o cosa..Deve avermi preso con il cappello, non mi sono accorto che stava nuotando verso di me. E niente, dolore che dura da circa un ora ma in diminuzione. Fate attenzione, se avete il dubbio che in mare ci sia una medusa, non fate come me, meglio avere il beneficio del dubbio che una "bruciatura"

Impossibile che ti abbia punto con il cappuccio, per esperienza ti assicuro che non presenta cellule urticanti :D sicuramente ti ha preso con i tentacoli, che possono arrivare oltre i 3 mt di lunghezza. Lo so, fa abbastanza male, ma tieni presente che sebbene possano suscitare qualche giustificato timore, le meduse, in generale, sono indicatore di acqua pulita. @@Eric205gen È successo l'anno scorso, ero convinto mi avesse preso col cappuccio dato che l'avevo vista poco prima e pensavo di essere abbastanza lontano. Probabilmente saranno stati i tentacoli, non sono un esperto in materia e dalla superficie non avevo modo di vedere i tentacoli. Anche quest anno ho avuto a che fare con lo stesso tipo di medusa ma reduce dalla brutta esperienza appena descritta, questa volta me ne sono tornato a riva, purtroppo rovinandomi un paio di giornate di mare dato che non avevo intenzione di ripetere la brutta esperienza. Pensavo fossero attratte dalle temperature più miti dell'acqua piuttosto che dallo stato di pulizia della stessa

@@Pizzomane Beh considera che esistono meduse, anche gigantesche, che vivono solo in acque gelide, come nell'artico! Diciamo comunque che come tutte le creature acquatiche, anche loro prediligono le acque pulite.

Non puo essere stato il cappello, nessuna medusa al mondo ha un cappello urticante
