Thanks for this video. All units now (Decenber 2022) run the same 'Unity' software. My Pegasus PB Micro required a firmware update to boot correctly. The unit works very well and has allowed me to dispense with three power adapters and a dew heater controller. It also means cables remain connected between set ups quickening set up and take down time.

Thanks! I just bought a PPB Micro for my grab and go. It seems to be a great product which I'll be using with power-up presets (all outputs enabled and auto dew). But I wish that today's tech manufacturers would go back to at least TRYING to document the features they claim to provide, and how we are meant to access them, instead of pretending that everything is "discoverable" to excuse their indolence. But no, here they have been super-coy about the fact that fixed dew heater settings are NOT REMEMBERED in stand-alone mode and in that mode (e.g. cable management in support of an ASIair mini controlled rig) the auto dew - which is a GREAT feature by the way - is the ONLY option available. That shyness and lack of open honesty about a (small) limitation has meant that I could not test the plug resoldering I needed to do to restore my dewstrap to use its original plug. I have wasted an entire evening attempting the impossible because they offer a feature that doesnt work the way that they imply it should. So I'll give the PPB micro 5 stars for quality, 3 stars for value for money, but only 2 stars for support.

Hi - thanks for your excellent videos. Could you consider doing one on the various options for the iOptron CEM 40 mount? E.g. does the mount-only option come with the counterweight shaft and any tests with auto-guiding? Thanks.

Thanks for doing this. I purchased the Pegasus Astro USB hub a short while ago. In retrospect, I guess I should have purchased one of these instead. . I have four AC Adapters distributed around the legs of my mount ... one for the Celestron CGX-L, one for the ZWO ASI cooled camera, one for the Pegasus Astro focuser, and of course, one for the hub itself. Besides that, I have another AC adapter with a female cigarette plug receptor that I use to power my Kendrick dew heater. I was thinking about getting a rotator, so that would be another one. How many of those adapters would I be able to eliminate with the Ultimate-V2? All of them? Also, the Amp rating on all those adapters is not the same, so does this unit you have here account for that automatically? Wouldn't want to fry anything. And are all the necessary cables provided or would I have to pick them up elsewhere?

Does the ASIair make this redundant when you have all ZWO cameras?

Good morning. A couple of days ago I bought the Power Box Pegasus V2. I was wondering which 12Volt input I can connect my Celestron CGX-L mount to? Practically the 4 inputs I have available are already occupied, and I was wondering if I could connect it on the input: (12v On)? I also use an INTEL NUC PC, which is plugged into one of those 4-inputs I already explained to you are already occupied. The INTEL NUC Mini PC however runs on 19Volt electricity, which I, yes I have already connected to the PEGASUS v2, but with an EXTRA system that transforms the electricity from 12Volt to 19Volt. Is it possible to connect the Intel NUC Mini PC without the extra system that I bought separately, but set inside the Pegasus v2 the right power of electricity in 19Volt? Is it possible to program it? If yes that would be great. To my Astro Physics Traveler 105mm I used the Motor Focus System from OPTEC, also I thinking are not possibly to controll the Focus Motor Optec fron the new Pegasus v2? Another important question, I think I have to load the Software to this new Pegasus v2, or is everything already installed as standard? Thanks for your video. I don't understand English and that's why I asked you these different questions. I hope to receive precise answers. I will make a translation of your answers. Thank you and greetings from Switzerland. Bye.

Hi Cesare, I've got some information from Pegasus about your questions as follows. I hope this helps. "I was wondering which 12Volt input I can connect my Celestron CGX-L mount to" You can use any 12V Output. Outputs can deliver up to 6Amps each. CGX requires 2.5A at max during slewing. "The INTEL NUC Mini PC however runs on 19Volt electricity" Intel NUC works fine with voltage ranges from 12-19V. Just plug it into one of the 12V output. Latest NUC generations work also fine with 12V. There is a catch. If voltage goes below 11.5 NUC will hang. Therefore it is advised to power the UPBv2 with PSUs from 12.5-13.8V to avoid this situation (due to voltage drops in cables). Our Pegasus PSU has been configured to output 12.6V for this reason. You cannot program / voltage step up a UPBv2 output. "I used the Motor Focus System from OPTEC, also I thinking are not possibly to controll the Focus Motor Optec fron the new Pegasus v2" Most optec motors use the HSM motor pinout so the PEG-CMOT-HSM cable does the job here. "I think I have to load the Software to this new Pegasus v2, or is everything already installed as standard" Download the PC software from Pegasus website. Firmware upload is not required. All functionalities exist in the UPBv2 firmware by default.

Good comparison but boy are these overpriced! I wish some manufacturers would realise that if a product costs them say £50 to make a difference they sell it for £185. They make £135 less the retail markup etc but sell only a few because people cannot or will not pay that price. Alternatively, they sell it for £100 and sell 3x as many and reduce manufacturing costs by bulk buying to £40 so they make £60 per item minus take-offs. They’d still make a healthy profit. It’s only a matter of time before ZWO or similar will launch something much cheaper or if you’re good with a doldering iron you could make something similar arduino or raspberry pi based for a fraction of the cost.

Pegasus do not supply a power lead anymore so you will have to pay an extra £20-£60 for one of their ones.
