I could never really get into 1/35 kits due to the complexity of them, especially dragon kits. I’m on more of a budget and simple 1/72 scale kits are perfect. Thanks for the review, I will definitely be buying this kit.

Thanks for the review - I have some venerable clip-together 1:72 AHM Tiger 2's purchased in the USA in the 1970s that have given good service and I may add a couple of boxes of the Pegasus ones to beef the unit up. The AHM range were similar to modern fast assembly kits but had a friction drive motor with a pair of wheels sticking through two slots in the bottom of the hull. I was trying to build representative forces of NATO and WP at the time and as well as the Tiger 2 they did a very nice T55 (of which I have many), an M48 and what may have been the Japanese version of the M47

Those AHM tanks sound really interesting. I'll be keeping an eye out for those.

AHM were a US based company offering imported models, they went off the market in the mid 1980s. Their sucsessor company was IHM ( www.ihc-hobby.com/store/3834618/home ) but they only seem to do the model railway stuff. The AHM tanks were a bit of a sideline but for cold war stuff they were the only inexpensive 1:72(ish) kits out there back then. The T55 was a nice if simple kit (no AA MG no searchlight etc), the M48 had more detail (rotating MG cupola for the commander), the Tiger was super simple, not dissimilar to the Pegasus model. No transfers in any of the kits as I remember it. My tool kit at the time consisted of a manicure set from a corner store with a bottle of Microweld and some acrylic paints (I prefer enamels). FV432s based on Roco Minitanks Walker Bulldog chassis, BMP-1's based on Eastern Models PT-76's. I made the upper chassis from plasticard and details from whatever I could find. The ZSU-23-4 wasn't bad and the Frog 3 had 'working' hydraulic ram under the launcher from super glue soaked paper wrapped around wire (paper wrapped around wire is a good way to make barrels, 81mm mortars, Soviet B-10 RCL's, barrels on the BMP-1's etc).

Thanks Al. It's getting a bit out of hand at this stage! Rapidfire uses a ratio of 1:5 for Tanks , so I might be going outside the bounds of historical accuracy having so many. I still have a few to do, so more vids to come. Cheers.

Thanks for another great review. It was well timed as I was on the brink of buying this set but had concerns about matching the size of a Revell version I already own. Looks like a nice match. Thanks again. Very useful, please keep the reviews coming!

Thanks, I have literally just minutes ago, completed putting a pair together and agree with your observations. I also had minor clip damage on the skirts from when detaching from the sprue. I also thought that some parts were a tight fit that needed a slight shaving of parts to get a better fit, but once done, they were fine. Oddly, the same part on both machines may not have had the problem to the same degree, so only one of that tanks might have needed that part slightly shaved. The plastic feels a bit 'tinny' as your rattle of the box shows at the very start of your video and so there is a feeling of cheapness, but really, that does not translate into the end result, which is good. I use Revell Contacta glue and I didn't think the plastic was as quickly responsive to that as other plastics have been that I have used, but everything did set fine. Anyway, for the wargamer, these are a good price to get a couple of good looking machines onto the table. thanks again for the time you put into making the video. and I will copy your camo painting scheme.

They're not a bad little set to be fair. I was pleasantly surprised as they were the first kit from Pegasus I have put together. I think I shall have to pay more attention to this brand!

The Idler wheel looks strange. Mean to say, it does'nt look like the prototype Idler.

Very Armourfast style of model. At £6 a tank I think I'd pay a little bit more and get the Revell kit. Very nice paint job, though.
