Lovely! Such a helpful video; I really want to expirement with colour but was concerned that it would cause permanent change to my silver and grey hair. The 2 years growing out process was too long and too challenging to risk messing up my new hair! So, thank you very much for trying this :)

If you ever decide to give it a go, try purple first. It washes out the fastest. I've done a few peekaboos like this, and pink definitely sticks around longer. I mostly use manic panic and I've also tried arctic fox. Also beware the greens and turquoises, just search some videos and read reviews of people who've used them. Those colors tend to permanently stain the hair.

Hey just fyi semi permanent colors can stain natural grey hair, strand testing first is your best friend!

Thanks this is the video i was looking for (hard to find actually), i wanted to know if i need to put toner in my hair when using bright coloured hair dye on grey hairs, because last time i tried it, it didn't quite cover the white hairs near the roots. Maybe it just depends on the colour brand, but it looks like you got a pretty common semi-permanent colour like the ones i have. So i might just try again. with a touch of toner maybe. idk, hard to find tips on this subject when it comes to bright colours on semi-greys. looking beautifully young in your result pictures btw.

Hi Rei! Hair not taking colour may depend on several reasons like the porosity of the hair, hair colour brand, the time you keep the colour applied on hair, and when you wash your hair before colour application. In my case, I washed my hair the same day I coloured it. Also, I didn't apply the conditioner after the wash cos I wanted my hair to absorb the colour very well. My hair was freshly washed without any products on. Hope it helps! Good luck this time.

@@sparklingsilvers Yes! thank you that does help a lot! i try to keep it on for a longer than recommended, time, but it makes sense to put the colour on cleaned hair, because perhaps the pores are more available without oil on the hair and that could be why mainly my roots didn't absorb the colour. 👍

Thanks! My hands were safe while applying the color, but while rinsing off the color they got stained, but the color came out in 4-5 hand washes.

I did six different colors last year. It was so much fun. I usually do the ends only or an ombre from roots to ears, so no roots growing out. Arctic Fox is a nice product as it does not last too long and you can overdye it. It is made with conditioner only and pigment, so it leaves hair soft and healthy.

I have a question and hope you respond with your ideas. My hair is white. Wavy and hasn’t had dye in it for at least 8 years. I have a lot of hair and actually have the lower back under cut/shaved because there is so much of it. It goes down past my shoulders. This is the issue-It separates in the back (cowlick) and my scalp has always been pink so it’s very apparent with such white hair. I HATE this. I sprinkle powders, cornstarch, dry shampoo that leaves a white residue all just to hide the scalp. Lately I’ve been contemplating lowlights underneath for dimension but mostly to make the pink scalp less apparent. I ran across your video while looking up semi permanent color thinking I could try that first instead of permanent. But seeing your pink I wonder if I should try that since the scalp is so pink. But wonder if it will look bad since my hair is so white. Ideas??

It will look beautiful. Go for it! It will definitely solve both the issues and also better than using cornstarch, dry shampoo that can be harmful to your scalp in long terms. Hope it helps! 😊

Semi permanent hair dye can stain natural grey hair - always ask a stylist if they have experience with natural grey hair first - go to someone who does. Anyone saying semi permanents can’t stain natural grey/white hair is inexperienced and you don’t want them touching your hair, they can ruin it. Always strand test first somewhere it can’t be seen.

Hey which semi permanent hair dyes is the least damaging ? I don't want hydrogen peroxide, ammonia and ppd.

Most bright hair colors are like tinted conditioners!! Very conditioning

I would recommend you research fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

I think there is nothing wrong in sprucing up things a bit. It is a semi-permanent colour that washes out gradually.

At the beginning of the video you looks 55, at the end you looked 15 😮
