Just heard now he passed away at only 70. He was one-in-a-million. "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" is a classic at this point. He attained some immortality with that one. My daughters also enjoyed the "Playhouse." Inspired lunacy - even for adults. Now he can finally be a 7-year-old forever.

Used to always watch this as a kid. Paul may have had his real life issues but he poured his heart and soul to portray Pee Wee as best he can to entertain us all. There can only be one Pee Wee. Thanks Paul!

God bless his soul. It was so enjoyable, entertaining, and fun watching this show every Saturday after the cartoons growing up as a little kid in the 1980s and 1990s! Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure is one of my most favorite kid movies from the 1980s! Who could ever forget the "Large Marge" truck scene! The Motorcycle Club/Bar scene where and when he did the Pee Wee Herman Dance on top of the Bar! Thank you so much for the memories and nostalgic awesomeness of growing up as a little kid in the 1980s and 1990s!

What a wacky, surreal, groundbreaking and memorable piece of art he left us with. You were a loaner and rebel! Thanks Paul!

RIP Paul Reubens, AKA Pee-wee Herman. You made my early childhood fun and educational, and I'll never forget the lessons you taught all of us. 1952-2023.

Oh man, such memories, won't be an opening sequence like this ever again. What a wonderful thing he gave the world. He was one in a million!

R.I.P. Pee Wee, loved him and his shows on Saturday mornings back in the day, legends never die, always.

The great thing about this show is that it is a show that can simultaneously appeal to a child,as well as a person in a drug induced state. But the thing that separates this show from other kids shows or just some trippy old cartoon that stoners watch is the humor,the interaction,the education,the culture but most of all everything from the characters to the set design sparked kids creativity and imagination in a way that no kids show today can even compare to. Paul Reuben is an artist.

I remember everyday while getting ready for elementary school I would eat my morning cereal while watching Pee Wee's Playhouse It was so different from other children's shows, it was off the wall, wacky, and colorful. And it was tied together by Paul's dynamic energy and charisma. It hurts to know that a part of my childhood has passed, but he will always be remembered as a legend.

Edit On 8/7/2023 After Original Comment Several Years Ago Here: Rest In Peace Paul Reubens. Looking back this show was scary to me as a child but maybe I can just process it better as an adult. I do appreciate (at least appreciate much better now) all the work that went into this crazy landscape that was the show and thanks to Paul and everyone who worked on it (as well as the films Big Adventure then Big Top) to bring us unforgettable entertainment.
