I loved his bike. I tried making my bike similar to his and put every gadget I could buy on it. The kids at school made fun of me and called my bike the 'Pee Wee Herman bike', but I didn't care except when they turned my lights on and let the batteries run dead.

I watched Pee Wee’s Playhouse every Saturday morning with my infant daughter. She and I both loved it. I will never forget that joy.

I STILL MISS PEE WEE .

I never understood what the problem was in that theatre. Like dudes (or whomever) watching triple XXX are just supposed to squirm in the seat and wait till they got home to 'culminate' the situation? Why would police make surprise appearances to check on that scene? It all just seems so strange to me. I always thought he was an interesting guy, and I loved his Playhouse. I hope he didn't mess with any kids.

He didn’t mess with kids, there’s not even an accusation of that or any evidence to it. I would suggest looking at the prosecutor who kept hounding him and pushing for some charge, see what he ended up being.

Sounds like these theaters should focus on upgrading the restrooms , if these theaters still exist , I've never seen one in person but only on TV . I think that's why in strip clubs there are naked pictures on the walls of the restrooms .

How is this 'Sad?' He lived a normal life just as anyone else. Ups and downs come with being alive. I've yet to meet or hear about anyone who hasn't been through this.

No matter what they did to him, we loved him. He kept his fetishes private, and they should have stayed that way. He never hurt a living soul.

@13:50: Toys 'R Us didn't remove Pee Wee Herman toys. It sold stocks off at deep discounts as "close outs". I still have a plastic bag full of them, stupidly hoping to cash in.

Reubens was unbelievably versatile. Well he was able to not be typed as say Lugosi was both being able to do straight parts with style! (Bela in Ninotchka was brilliant as the Soviet official in Paris and even Liberace (!) strutted is acting stuff in "Forever Yours," displaying a surprisingly sharp side in some key darker scenes, which I believe most did not notice.) Sure, Pee Wee Reubens made some mistakes but I think we all forgive him of them with giddy glee. The guy was just lovable I think and carrrrrazy funny!

i liked the world better with Pee Wee Herman in it.

Glad I had the opportunity to meet him in person after he used cars I provided for his last movie with Netflix. A very. Nice a generous man that was glad to meet my wife and I. We never watched his on Playhouse but told him we loved him in Murphy Brown. He told us he did the show because his mother was a fan.

I hope they open a museum of his stuff.

🥹 I’ll never forget that he made my all my friends and family laugh and he brought my children joy, rest in peace you gentle man.

I WATCHED HIS MOVIE BIG ADVENTURE WHEN I WAS 17 IN 1991 RIGHTNOW IN 2024 I'M 50 YEARS OLD.

All these Reubens facts are blowing me away! I loved his movies and watched his TV show throughout my childhood. What the press did to him was totally heartless and cruel. Was totally unnecessary.

I'll always love paul Reubens. He was a comedic genius. RIP PEE WEE.

There were a couple of shots of the Nightmare Before Christmas at the Hollywood Bowl where Paul Reubens showed up to appear with Danny Elfman and Catherine O'Hara. I was priviledged to be there with my family as a treat for my daughter. Quite a memorable night. RIP Mr Reubens.

Just a correction note...Pee Wee character came on the scene way before 1985. Character appears in Cheech and Chong Next Movie and the HBO specials 80/81.

AH, just got to part this is talked about...was commenting on the first statement saying came on the scene in 1985.

I dressed up as Pee Wee for a Halloween Party at law school and danced the Tequila song to victory for best costume! Paul Reubens was a one of a kind performer and his character Pee Wee is unforgetable. RIP Paul, thanks for the laughs, we miss you. 🎉

Pee Wee Herman was an awesome entertainer. I would never miss "Pee Wee's Playhouse" on Saturday mornings. Loved his movies, too.

Sad Pee Wee was never able to display his talent and a shame that he was prevented from showing his full potential and I didn't notice any mention of a significant other when he seemed to be a very good catch - funny and intelligent. I'm sorry to hear about his death 😢

I loved this show as a little kid. My parents showed me his HBO night show with Phil Hartman when I was five a little while later came his show.

His act of whimsy was a salute to all those who do not fit in but live in their own world! It is a shame he was hounded by those that desired fame by destroying him!

When they sit down for their monthly meeting about how they're allocating resources, how far down the list was: "Go to an adult theatre unannounced, and arrest everyone who is touching themselves" ?? I think he was. He got himself in a bit of trouble with the same thing that causes problems for many men, but at least he didn't do any real damage as some often do. He wasn't my thing, but he had his place beyond any doubt for others.

Love PeeWee from the first time I saw him on t.v. His movies are classics. I'm a Pee Wèe tween - not quite 70 y.o.

I first saw this mad genius in a Cheech and Chong movie. Those guys know talent when they see it. Never watched the Playhouse, I kinda saw that as a "kids only " thing and I regret it now. When I heard of his death, I was floored. I suppose that I believed that someone THAT wonderful would outlast me, along with the FCC. He is sorely missed by millions, and no wonder. He was awesome.
