I don't get why people are so afraid of calls. That feels like such an odd way to end it. If anything, I'd be relieved that this wasn't the reason. Like, reason being maintenance rather than missed bill would be a HUGE relief.

LOL no he's not afraid of the call, he's admitted he missed paying his bill (for who knows how long) and since that wasnt the reason he didnt want to be punished for having not paid. Its like telling the teacher you didnt do your homework, but they had forgotten to collect it, so now you've reminded them and been caught without it.
