Pedernales Falls State Park: Camping and hiking in the rain, fishing, and longganisa

Ойын-сауық

A rainy weekend (May 22-24, 2021) at Pedernales Falls State Park. This park is about 45 minutes from Austin, TX. I hiked the Wolf Mountain Trail and a couple of shorter trails. The river crossing trail was raging, so I had to skip that one, since I can’t swim, lol. I also opted to skip the Juniper Trail the on the third day because it was pouring down in the morning. I explored the park and went fishing instead, took my time, and cooked up a nice longsilog breakfast. It did clear up later in the day, so it was a nice day out. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch anything, though there were lots of fish jumping and biting.
A handful of wildlife in this park. I spotted deer, pigs, and a a big snake.
This park has has updated, spacious, and clean bathrooms and showers. But the campsites have trails around them.
I really enjoyed camping and hiking in the rain. It was not hot, and the rain made me slow down and chill out. I was also able to test out some of my gear, and this REI tent really held up.
Thank you for watching! I hope you enjoyed this video!

@@janis.gabriel yes, very hot season and no rain at all! ☀️ I saw many young parents shortening their hiking because it was too hot for kiddos to handle. I don’t blame ‘em. I recently started doing video on parks I visit so i will appreciate if you could subscribe!!

Awesome trip! Thank u for sharing. Question 🙋‍♂️ what’s the name of the trail that had that wooden staircase and does that take you down to the river? I just started fly fishing and leave near the park and looking for some other river entry points
