This is a great film, very well made and tells a good story. It's inspiring but also a very honest picture of what bike couriers do and how they live. I'm glad I saw this, I had sort of romanticized this job and even thought about moving to a big city to work as a courier. It looks like these riders pay dearly for their freedom and their passion. I was 23, and I did it for 3 months back in 1994. I rolled with a company down on (I think) 27th street, btwn 6th and 7th. I tell ya, this was the shittiest job I have ever done, and I have done some pretty bad jobs in the past. The pay was an insult, and most of it I spent on snapple and gatorade while working anyways... The worst feeling was when (in February) you have to ride from wall street to mid or uptown, uphill and against wind... Gosh, it shivers me just to think about it.

Every character is very unique and original. As a guy who did bike messenger for a week in Toronto some time ago no one can beat the excitement of bike messaging in nyc. Skeletor need way better ergonomic on his bike. That bike is too low for him but he is a crazy mf. Awesome footage. Beats 98% of new video coming out at present moment. Thumbs up to whoever made it.

Delivering on an old track bike; fast forward 20+ years, today's 'messengers' delivering food on E bikes.
43:58 what a character 😂😂😂💀 They could make a video game about this
What do you guys do for bike maintenance? DIYers mixed with a LBS? And what about keeping your drive trains clean and lubed?
I love NY
I was 23, and I did it for 3 months back in 1994. I rolled with a company down on (I think) 27th street, btwn 6th and 7th. I tell ya, this was the shittiest job I have ever done, and I have done some pretty bad jobs in the past. The pay was an insult, and most of it I spent on snapple and gatorade while working anyways... The worst feeling was when (in February) you have to ride from wall street to mid or uptown, uphill and against wind... Gosh, it shivers me just to think about it.

EDS A GOOD MAN!!!
Saw the video quality from thumb nail and wanted to see how shit this would be from ten years ago 😂. It this was a very enjoyable watch and one that I’ll come back to watch again for sure.
Besides being in an office at a 9-5 you must conform to a work culture and essentially be as "normal" as possible. But not as a bike messenger.
Does someone know what that song at 22:41 is??
damn that smoking guy s got some charisma
