I wouldn't compare peavey to turbosound, turbosound is way better especially the high end models like the iq series, i got a pair of iq18b and a pair of iq15 couldn't be happier with this choice

Hi, hopefully you could help me… My Turbosound IQ500’s are just outside warranty , hardly used! On turning in one speaker I heard a very loud swishing a fussy sound and the display went down, no power… to ship it back to Thomann and pay for repair im sure would be a crazy amount of money…. Surely there’s a fuse on these boards to prevent damage or fire? Would you have any idea?? Thanks in advance

Ya they work betyer than any commercial stuff. But we are building some into single boxes soon.

The early RBN 112s were loaded with Black Widows while the later models have the Scorpion woofer... Which version are you using for this test?

Przez mikrofony to nie odzwierciedla jakości. Na żywo było słychać . Która lepsza ? Która mocniejsza? Turbo iq12 osobiście z JBL srx812p testuję i jest bardzo blisko. iQ ma mały driver ale wyjątkowo sprawny i mocny dziwne. turbo iq12 jest lepsze od Yamahy dzr ale czy Lepsze od Ev etx?

Is there a setting to quiet down peavys fan when nothing is playing? Or is there firmware update for that?

The peavay has a better low end which is what I like

Why would you test them with KZread videos instead of using a flac or wav files?

Already did listen to them with waves. I know the youtbe versions isn't quite the quality needed but it was just to find the spl and differences. I sold the rbn... it sounds great but it's thinner plastic and the buttons will get broke off easier.

now days most. speakers sound great they are so engineer... technology is so advance, all turns to listener preferences ill say...

Turbosound and RCF are a little better than the Peavey. The Peavey is still great quality.

Testing without using the technology features unique to each company for their product offerings and without subs that certainly will be present when you're on the road? Not quite following what's going on here. Some sort of baseline test?

The peavey one when you turn urs off do it make crazy noises

Have you ever opened them up and see what the drivers look like if budget or semi pro

From what I've seen and heard with Turbosound tops is that they can handle massive amounts of volume but with live sound they don't produce them clear at high levels. At medium volume levels they are good for the band and singers, but they don't produce the clarity at very high volumes like RCF does.

You could be right. If this covid shit didn't happen I would compare them and buy some rcf . We have a retails store so we try everything and then sell em so we know what sounds and produces. Maybe I'll look up their line. Thanks

You need to tune the settings on these to get high volume clarity. I use the high pass filter on the turbos and let my subs pump out the bass. I mainly use these to play house, psytrance and hard trance and I only use wav files

Do they produce a lot of fan noise?

The turbosound won't even turn on until they get loud and hot but when it does it's still quiet and the peavey is always on but still not noticeable.. I would use the turbo for studio

How would you compare to Yamaha dxr 12 mkii? Compared to RBN 12

I would say the output in spl would be very close. .. the ribbon tweet compared to a horn driver is the difference.. that ribbon seems to throw the high end far.

What is the Continuous power rating. I can not find that stat anywhere

It’s the same as their normal power rating, the special internal construction allowed them to use a real power rating and not marketing hype numbers
