I was introduced to this band on my first date with my wife of 32 years. We've seen them 26 times over the last 32 years and this morning watching a video of Pearl jam performing in 2022 I realized how fortunate we are to have this group still going strong all these years later. I can't imagine the past 30 plus years without this iconic long rocking band so many of us love. Can't wait to see them #27 😁👍

I'll be going to my 17th Pinkpop this year and I'm really looking forward to seeing the Rolling Stones, Metallica and the Arctic Monkeys (and many more). But I'm also a bit disappointed that Pearl Jam won't be there because their performance in 1992 is still one of the best live sets I have ever witnessed... Keep on rocking in the free world!!

The pure bliss of Eddie's face gazing into the audience and allowing himself to be immersed in the moment (3:51). Then his frantic dance moves towards the close, a beautiful reminder about the exhilaration of being in the moment together, Keep On Rockin' In The Free World indeed.

I remember my sister's walls being plastered with Pearl Jam posters, and listening to their albums, while playing along with her bass guitar. I really miss those times. We were all so alive back then. I hope we can escape the slippery slope of these devices managing our every decision and thought. I hope music can be what it once was as well.

@@GODsCHILD-lm6dfwhy are we all completely f*cked? "Devices" don't have to "manage us" because we can also manage them. If we choose. A musical instrument is also a "device" and you can obtain a decent one these days for not too much and learn how to play it. So anybody complaining about being controlled by social media, iPhones, computers, video game consoles or whatever has to realize they're making that choice because they could be making a different one.

I'm not necessarily a Pearl Jam fan, but this was a great cover of a timeless song. You can see Eddie actually has emotion as though something in the lyrics hits close to home for him. And this is an era that is forever gone where the crowd isn't looking through a smartphone screen and just enjoying the show!! I miss those days.

Intro - fugazi - suggestion She does nothing to deserve it He only wants to observe it We sit back like they taught us We keep quiet like they taught us He just wants to prove it She does nothing to remove it We don't want anyone to mind us So we play the roles that they assigned us She does nothing to conceal it He touches her 'cause he wants to feel it We blame her for being there... TALKING HEADS - pulled me up- Mommy, Daddy, come and look at me now I'm a big man in a great big town Years ago who would believe it's true Goes to show what a little faith can do I was complaining, I was down in the dumps I feel so strong now 'cause you pulled me up! Pull me up up up up up up up up

There are colors on the street...red, white, and blue People shufflin' their feet, people sleepin' in their shoes There's a warnin' sign in the road ahead There's a lot of people sayin' we'd be better off dead Don't feel like Satan, but I am to them So I try to forgive 'em, any way I can, yeah... I see a girl in the night with a baby in her hands Under an old street light, oh, near a garbage can Now she put her kid away, she's gone to get a hit She hates her life, and what she's done with it That's one more kid, that'll never go to school Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool Keep on rockin' in the free world (3x) ( The US of A, the United States ) ( Ain't a free place, it's not a free place ) ( Ain't got the right to choose, barely got the right to vote ) ( There they got the right to make an honest buck ) ( The USA ain't a free, free place ) There's a thousand points of light for the colored man There's a kinder, gentler police man's hand There's department stores, and toilet paper Styrofoam garbage for the Ozone layer There's a man of the people, said 'keep hope alive' Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive Keep on rockin' in the free world (4x)

I sometimes think, who are these people. Are they alive? Do they have families? How do they live? What are they like? Do they still listen to music from the teenage years? What do they look now, years later? Sometimes when I watch recordings of concerts bothering me those questions. I would like to know the answer.

I don't fully know the history of this song, as this is the first time seeing this video and never being a die-hard Peal Jam fan.. but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction eventually brought me here and I must say I'm hugely impressed with this footage. Fugazi and Talking Heads, then Neil Young all in a jam session sounding amazing.. I'm loving this with the 3rd time on repeat. Wish I would have found this sooner.
