There’s more than just live action but you all didn’t know. Even if that’s the case I’ll give you two options, haven’t you done a video of the movie Fury yet or haven’t you reacted to Monarch Legacy of Monsters?

fun fact: Cillian Murphy had smoked over 3000 cigarettes over the course of filming just by the end of season 2. His current count would amount to around 6000 cigarettes on set. However, he has informed reporters that he smokes herbal cigarettes (they don't contain tobacco or nicotine, and hence aren't addictive)

Tommys line about “on my mothers side we are kin” is referring to the Irish-Romani gypsy heritage that the Shelbys have, a lot of Romani families would have been related somewhere down the line through marriage or blood, so it’s likely that the Shelbys and Lees both being Romani have some sort of connection, known or assumed. The families Romani roots get mentioned quite a lot throughout the show, such as Billy Kimber’s “Pick it up, pikey” Comment during his introduction, pikey being a slur word towards people of traveller backgrounds.

Irish historian here, important point the IRA of this series is not the same as in Sons of Anarchy. The IRA was formed from the Irish Volunteers during the War of Independence in 1919. They fought until the end of the war in 1921 and after the peace treaty in 1922 they split into Pro and Anti Treaty factions. The Pro Treaty faction won and formed the Irish Defence Forces, the modern Irish military. The Anti Treaty faction lost and went underground, launching terrorist attacks for several decades, including working with the Nazis during the Second World War. During the Troubles in Northern Ireland from 1969-1998 various splinter groups of the IRA were active, and after the Good Friday Agreement in 1998 most of them disarmed. Some of the groups, known as Dissident Republicans refused peace and continued their violent campaign. The IRA of Sons of Anarchy is meant to be one of these dissident groups, where as the IRA of Peaky Blinders is the Old IRA, the rebels who won Irish independence and eventually became the Irish military.

The great thing about this episode is how the showrunners express barbarity that exists in all men no matter what side of the law you’re on. Both men desire power and use their influence to exact the results they want. The scene with Grace and Campbell exemplifies that dichotomy so well because she’s beginning to see a different side of Thomas.

It just hit me after an offhand comment you made - have you considered watching The Shield? It’s the series that the creator of Sons of Anarchy worked on just before he went off to do his own show, so it was a training ground or incubator of sorts for him. (Sorry, his name escapes me at the moment.) The two shows have a lot in common, especially the overall tone. Just a thought. I’m loving these Peaky Blinders reactions! Peace …

The look that Grace gave Tommy at the end, she may have been the one to tip off the Cops about Freddy. After she gave Ada the note, she may have discreetly followed her home and got the address.

I'm loving your reaction to an amazing series. Glad to see you're enjoying it as much as I did. I have to say there's a strange difference over reaction to Freddie from US reviewers to UK reviewers. Freddie and Tommy are very similar in their sense that they have causes they'll fight for. They were good friends during the war. the friction on return was due to Tommy's exploitation of the city while Freddie's aim was to stand up for the working man, no matter what. I think the difference of opinion between US and UK is that he was a communist and in the US that's taboo. If they hadn't mentioned him being a communist I suspect US opinions of Freddie would be much more positive. I apologise, a long comment on a small detail, but one I found really interesting. Keep up the good work. Loving your reaction :)

Tommy is incredibly smart. Manages to piss off the Lee's and Kimber, then makes a deal with Kimber since they now have a common enemy in the Lee's. Uses his relationship with Kimber to get some legal business, then goes behind Kimbers back to make a deal with the Lee's. And he makes a deal with them by marrying off John who just so happens to need a wife after Tommy smartly found out that lizzy was lying.
