I told my mum I wanted to be a writer when I was about 10 or 11. I loved reading and writing and I wanted to publish books when I grew up. She told me to be more realistic, so I tried to find another passion to make into a career. After trying out two different degrees, and going through a two-year-long existential crisis, I decided to study Creative Writing. I'm now 24 years old and have just graduated from my degree (with distinction!) a few months ago and am writing my own novel while working as a freelance editor! I've had a few poems and short stories published in student mags so far, but my ultimate goal is to publish my own books! I'm so happy knowing that I'm working toward a goal that I'm passionate about, while working on a career that I love and am good at! Whoever is reading this, please don't let people tell you to be "more realistic" with your goals! You can do anything you put your mind to, especially when you're passionate about it!!!

My colleagues just invited me to see Peach PRC at The Astor Theatre in Perth tonight. I’d never heard of her, but it was a free ticket since one of the girls didn’t show up, so I thought ‘why not?’… And I’m so glad I went! It isn’t really my go-to music, but Peach’s stage presence, live vocals, lyrics, and badass songs and attitude made her really stand out! After everything she’s been through, she really deserves her success. What a legend! I’m so glad you stuck with your instincts. Such a brave human. Thank you, Peach!

Literally the only reason why I found your amazing music is because one day in 2020 I was severely depressed and and I looked up on KZread how to clean your room depression. And I fell in love with you and that’s what made me curious ab you’re music. You’re probably the one good thing that came out of that. My favorite song from you is symptomatic I relate to it so much

I was like you as a kid and all I wanted to do was be a singer and I so many people would say ‘yeh but what’s your backup plan’ and I would say ‘I don’t need one’ but then I guess one day it got to me so I gave up and for about 5 years but I’m back now taking every opportunity I can , but your story honestly inspires me to keep going , I just wish I could tell my younger self ! ❤️

Even after everything you went through, people constantly telling you that you aren't good enough or that you would never make it or even just to 'be realistic', you still carried on. I follow you on TikTok too and I'm really glad I did as you remind me that it's okay to have flaws, it's okay to live messy and it's okay to get hurt by what people say as you're human...as long as you carry on being you in the end.
