Woodworking with traditional hand tools is a nice change of pace from working with woodworking power tools and machinery. After a marathon of working in my wood shop I needed to spend some time outside doing something simple. I've had a saw blade for a frame saw for years and finally got a notion to make the wooden frame. Most of the work was done on my handmade shaving horse. You can learn more about it here- • Shaving Horse Design -... The main tools used where an axe, froe, draw knife, spoke shave, saws, auger and chisels. The saw is simple, it has two handles and a cross beam. The blade is tensioned with chord by twisting it with a small flat piece of wood, tension is held by the small piece of wood resting on the cross beam, keeping the chord twisted. It basically works like a hack saw. I hope you enjoy the video.

This is a great video. I appreciate that you selected the video cuts that focused on techniques and construction to make it easy to follow. The additional info and links to other projects is really helpful also! I'm fascinated with completely unplugged woodworking. These videos bridge the gap between reading books about it and actually seeing the tools in use. I hope you do a lot more! I've subscribed and will keep watching. If I could make a suggestion - a little bit of verbal explanation before or after the work would be helpful for newbies like me. I'd also like to know things like what kind of wood you recommend, whether the wood is still green, what you use to seal it afterwards. Edited - I see you're adding commentary in some of your other videos. Thanks! But even without those things. I'll still be watching. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.

This couldn't come at a better time. I am holed up in my workshop in a blizzard trying to stop the voices in my head from telling me to make something. I started following the bodgers from the UK last year and need to stock up on my wood processing tools and this piece is perfect. Thank You so much. Doubt it will quiet the pesky vermin in my head though. They are never satisfied by finishing one project, they always want more. You know how it is I'm sure. Great channel.
