I sang In the Garden and Nearer to Thee at a VFW Post and Auxiliary state convention memorial service in honor of my Grandmother and Aunt who I lost within months of each other. My grandmother used to sing The Old Rugged Cross along with other hymns frequently when she was staying with us in my high school years. I lost them my sophomore year in high school. To say high school was rough from then on is an understatement. My dad had a stroke only one year later. I lost my faith and it sank deeper when my mom was diagnosed with the same disease that took my aunt. ALS is a disease I wouldn’t put on my worst enemy. I’ve seen it first hand take two aunts and my mom. These songs are some of what I have left of them in the form of a memory. After having my miracle child, I have found God again. This time I’m not letting go.

I do ,agree with you that Jesus is the best friend ever.....I love Him,more than even my one son,the only child that I have,and I can't wait for Him to come and take me home with Him to Glory. Thank you my sister for asking the question.

Your voice is so soothing that I am going to play this for a 94yrs old widow who may be leaving us soon according to her daughter. I wad looking to God to lead me as to what to share with her because I did not plan to visit her.this soon but her daughter bid me to visit her quickly. Some of my favorite hymns bring tears to me eyes as I am gardening listening to them. The kind of tone of voice that you have is so soothing and balmy .The melody is peaceful and restful. May the Holy Spirit continue to use these. Hymns bless and resonate with others.

Music is really the language of the soul. Everytime I heard the songs it penetrates deep in my heart and in my mind, and I almost cry. It also reminds me of my beloved wife when she's still alive. These are the songs which she usually sang in the church. I missed her so much. Thank you Lord for the strength🙏
