A brief clip from a much larger video of the famous Peabody Coal Company, Sinclair Surface Mine. Once the home of the world's largest shovel, the Bucyrus Erie 3850-B. Both my Grandfather and my Aunt worked at this mine with my Aunt actually operating the "big shovel" from time to time. Eventually I'll upload the entire video so just enjoy this for the moment. Sinclair Surface Mine was in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky next door to TVA's Paradise Power Plant. It's located in Western Kentucky and this video was shot in the early 1980's.
