Gonna admit this now. It wasn't the fighting robots, large cast of characters or or the futuristic dark storyline that drew me in. It was the music. Mainly the theme music that made me want this game. :)

Man, so many memories with this game. My dad was a computer programmer back then and got a ton of shareware games from his buddies, OMF being one of them. I remember whenever he played this, my big sister and I wouldn't let him go past the menu screen for quite a while because we were so mesmerized by the music. I also remember somehow unlocking Raven and Pyros (the shareware version only had the top row of pilots along with just Jaguar, Shadow and Thorn mechs available and the only arena you could fight in was Power Plant). I don't know how I did it but I felt so incredibly accomplished then and always played as both of them from that point on.

Awesome game-alert. I liked Shredder because it was cute and I liked the extending magnetic hands. I used to think that the robots were so big, such that each hand of Shredder had its own pilot. I had mine in a monochrome black and white. I remember having such a hard time with the flail guy with the cyberpunk shades on... Thorn was too slow, and the guy that piloted him was weird. I remember also playing this in the early 2000s and finding about the special moves at the end of the match--all thanks to the magic of the internet. The descriptions were unreal. Imagining punching your robot's fists together with the impact and sound of two trains crashing. That would've been a sight to behold.

Tournament mode, you can buy any of them once you have enough money and randomly roll them in the buy list. Kamilohbk I know! It's just that I played this game a lot when I was a kid but I never saw it! What's more, the game I had was corrupt with one of the most unstable corruptions I've ever seen: IF I select Pyros or the AI selects him, one of these things happen: 1) The game crashes 2) Pyros is invisible, he can't attack at all! If he jumps, he reveals himself, making him vulnerable! He can guard while crouching which makes him reveal himself too. Basically, Each time AI picks Pyros, it's a free win.

MALEMization Back when i had the demo, i spammed a lot of the first tourney. when i got my hands of the fullgame, i realized later that there were scrap and destro moves. I really enjoyed them a lot. Then i decided to bring the madness on tournament mode, and yep, i found out Jazz there while i mercilessly destroyed a bot. Jazz got owned as well.

I was really young when I was playing it. Maybe 9 years old. And Im my adult life I was trying to figure it out what name of this game was. But after watching some multilist of ms Dos games I found it! That's was my childhood. But what is the most funny I remembered it much higher resolution! With much higher fps haha. But still that's awesome to find and see something that was that long in the past.

Torn about how I want this game to go for the future. On the one hand, with the progression of fighting games these days, seeing a modern OMF with the same bells and whistles such as advanced graphics, modernized designs, fleshed-out characters, a story mode, etc., would be cool to see. It would be unique since we don't currently have a robot fighting game. On the other hand, OMF has been free for decades. Making it require payment now would be a dick move.

How awesome this game's theme song is? Even Kratos would smile happily when he hears this song. If played every morning in every radio, world would be more peaciful place. It makes Chuck Norris cry for joy. It gives my gamer heart an orgasm. Can you come up more?
