PBCB 20th Anniversary Fund-A-Need 2023

Find out more at: pbcb.cc/support/
The development and delivery of community outreach programs, adaptive programs and financial assistance programs to enable disadvantaged and disabled constituencies to participate in boating, marine education and environmental stewardship activities. We need contributions to help with the costs for needs assessments, program design and curricula, staffing & training and equipment and materials.
Thanks to Capital Campaign donations the campus now offers workable facilities for further program development.
Our fee based youth, adult, family and day camp programs have been well received and participation continues to grow. Program fees for local kids are discounted, scholarships and family assistance are readily available. Basically, we don’t turn anyone away.
We have initiated limited community outreach programming by collaborating with:
Elementary Schools in Brewster, Chatham, Harwich, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet (First Sail)
Monomoy & Nauset Middle & High Schools
Monomoy Community Services
Cape Abilities
Councils on Aging in Brewster, Chatham, Harwich, Orleans & Eastham
Orleans Ponds Coalition
Blind and vision impaired community (BVI Sailing Program)
Cape Veterans
Center for Coastal Studies
Mass Audubon
Northeastern
MIT
Duffy Center/Alternative Peer Group Program (Teen Addiction Recovery)
Sipson Island Trust
National Weather Service
With the completion of the dock and commissioning of our floating classroom the Friend, in addition to our repurposed campus facilities, we have a very good platform for expanding our Community Outreach, Adaptive and Assistance programs for sailing, paddling, marine education and environmental stewardship, including shoulder and off season offerings that will help PBCB develop into a year round community resource.
Our Fund A Need is to support the Development and Delivery of these programs including:
Community needs assessment
Program design and curricula
Staffing & training
Equipment & materials
