Such a great feat. So proud of Chris. I feel like he was my good luck charm in league last night. Because I also shot 300 my first game out. So Chris not only gave us a thrill on television. But he also was the inspiration for my first 300 in league. My third all-time. So thank you Chris!!

The Players Championship Regional Stepladders in 2021, collectively, are/were very favorable for high scores (it's still in process at the time of this comment). Following a few 270 games and even an 800 series by other players, someone shooting 300 in this event was not terribly shocking to a lot of people. Without a doubt, it's an outstanding achievement to do under intense pressure, under the TV lights, with different lane oil, in pandemic conditions, etc. Heck, it's amazing even under the most favorable conditions. It's something most bowlers, including myself, couldn't do in 100 games, or perhaps even in 1000, given the opportunity. This event highlights how great many of the players are at their mental game and fine-tuning their line to maximize carry, even following flush strikes. Great work Chris!

What a show Via put on Yesterday! It was absolutely amazing to watch. This shows how much the PBA and its players are stepping up their game on TV. Remember before the 2020 season the last person to shoot 300 on TV was Lavoie in 2016 at the US Open and now we had 4 300’s in a matter of 2 Seasons amazing. Finally, besides Lavoie in 2016, name the last time a Non-Title Holder bowled a 300 on TV before they won a Title?

Chris Via had quite a few light hits early but carried them all. That's what throwing 19 mph and 525 rev rate can do for you. I am a traditional righty, and I know many of my fellow old style bowlers are envious of 2 handers and no-thumbers for their high rev rate, saying that 2-hand bowling isn't "real" bowling. That's silly. The game evolves, and this is he state of the current game. I wish I could change myself, but, haha..too much of an old dog to learn new tricks.
